Lincoln Riley had ZERO Hcing experience before taking over at OU. Venables who is taking over at OU has ZERO HCing experience. Dave Aranda until he went to Baylor had ZERO HCing experience. Bob Stoops had ZERO HCing experience when he took over at OU. Your argument pretty much doesn't hold water.

That's not what you said though. You said our next HC needs lots of experience in a P5 conference as a HC. Not lots of experience as a coach (asst of HC) at a P5 school.

To mimic Paul Harvey's "and now the Rest of the Story" line, the key ingredient that can be found in all of those rookie HC success stories -- including Tom Osborne's -- was the quality of the coaches they surrounded themselves with.

And don't forget that Hunchy has taught us a new version of math, or ciphering, as I like to call it. I'm surprised he had time to work, before he retired, as he was so busy educating BHF'ers.
