Holgerson lost me when he said that our running backs need to "play better" and "grow up". Pretty d*amned hard to play better as a running back when you're not given the ball! The backs averaged 4 or 5 yards per carry (I forget the exact stat) in the first half. And good coaches support their players; they don't throw them under the bus to cover up for their own shortcomings.
Poor Jon, he picked a terrible time to try and stop swearing.

I can't believe no one has made the comparison yet. The most striking similarity between Rhule and Frost is their focus on the QB as 90% of the office. Adrian M. was an incredibly talented QB who was the entire focus of opposing team's defenses. Their coaches even said it.
We're in the same boat today. Defenses can put all their efforts into stopping AC because we have made him 90% of our offence. We need to share the load, rely on the running game to occupy a part of the defense's playbook. Early on we used Doc F.'s favorite short yardage formation and it worked. We rarely use Janiron as a lead blocker for the run, but when we do it's had some success.
BTW- I believe a cryptic remark by a former player, and backed up by Carriker in a podcast, the unnamed connected player getting undeserved reps is Mozee. I may be wrong.

College QBs ARE a huge part of the offense.
Undeserved reps? He's No. 3 of our top RBs and the best blocker. Along with Nelson, he's also strong as a third down receiving back.
Just thinking about Illinois. They are riding a 3 game winning streak while Nebraska is on a 3 game skid.
The game goes to the 4th quarter....history shows us Nebraska leads. They are up by 7. There is 8 minutes left in the game.
Do you want the Nebraska offense out there, the defense or the kicker trying a FG.......
Or do you just turn the TV off.
