Mickey Joseph

The question I posed in another thread some time ago was: Will Mickey Joseph have the same recruiting prowess at Nebraska that he did at LSU?

I tend to say no because: a) location/proximity to talent and b) we all know that $EC schools play fast and loose with recruiting rules. I don't think Frost will allow any shady stuff to go down under his watch either.

That would mean MJ was participating in the shadiness. Sounds like he did things the right way. He turned over every rock by getting to know the player and everyone around him. He didn't sell the $ potential or the facilities but the people the kid was going to be spending 4 to 5 years with. I like the story he told about recruiting Chase. He kept the kid on the phone for 4 to 5 hours talking until 0230 and then got the kid up in the morning at 0730 to make sure he signed the paperwork. Doesn't sound like he was handing out bags of money to me.

Not really what I was talking about. I was talking more about the old school way where a coach or bag man hands a player a paper sack with thousands of dollars in it.

For the record I'd like to think everything about MJ is above board, but coaching in the $EC where cheating comes as natural as breathing, it is difficult to be in that type of environment and not be corrupted by it.

Quite honestly, it could have been happening without MJ being involved too.

Being a former Husker, MJ is well aware coach Osborne is "watching", even if SF is preoccupied with trying to continue to figure out HIS job.

Many people assume every SEC coach is or was doing things under the table and that Nebraska coaches haven't been doing things under the table.
I'd guess both assumptions are incorrect.

My guess is that if someone looks hard enough, they will find something -- it's all a question of degrees.
