Rhule's coaching staff

Just have a gut feeling on this, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Joe Dailey as either the QB or WR coach when things are finalized.

Joe Dailey? The same Joe Dailey who went out of bounds 1 yard shy of a 1st down on 4th down....THAT Joe Dailey?

Gotta say, I'd be very disappointed if he is hired for ANY position coach. How the heck you gonna demand max effort from your players when you as a player didn't give max effort? I truly hope this hire doesn't happen.

YIKES!!! It's a damn good thing I'm retired now.

I'd sure hate to have Husker99 come across some damn clip of me taken from a party back in my college days or she'd have run my sorry butt right out of a job!!! :)

Yeah, same one coached with Rhule as his WR coach in Carolina. Has a solid resume coaching both WRs, QBs and OC. Fits the mold of what Rhule is looking for, young, has coached multiple positions, was a RC and has worked with Rhule and knows his demands and expectations. While many will hold that running out of bounds thing against him, he was coached to not take hits, heat of the moment, as a freshman (I think) he reverted to what he was coached to do instead of overriding to game situation. I can look past it if that's who Rhule wants to come in.

Yeah, sometimes the smart move is to not take unnecessary hits trying for the extra yard or two. The health of the player is more important, especially when depth is lacking.

It's a good thing you've never, ever made a mistake that someone could bring up years later. :evilgrin0007:

For the record, I am on board with whomever Coach Rhule hires. There'll be plenty of time for complaining later.

My general impression is I like the age of the coaches (right mix), their recruiting prowess (ESPECIALLY our new DC) - yes he hired guys he has worked with but it appears he had reasons for each guy selected (and probably strong interest on their end).

Now - did any hires blow my mind? Make me think we'll have Harbaugh by the balls next season? No.......

So I am still in wait and see mode. But he did better than Riley and Frost IMHO.

I remember being impressed with the recruiting prowess of Callahan's coaches and, truth is, they were good (example: Suh) -- but they fell short on the development side (example: Suh). By contrast, Bo was good at development but short on the recruitment side.

On paper, Rhule's group of coaches hit both boxes hard: 1) they're all good recruiters; and 2) they've shown they're good at 'coaching 'em up.' But (IMO) the all-important third factor is that Rhule wanted guys he knew were hard-charging, go-getters. While that all sounds good, we've heard all the 'warm, fuzzies' before. The proof will be in the pudding.

But I've gotta say, everything we're hearing is encouraging.
