Ready or not.... baggage and all.....

I personally think Dr. Tom's offense would still be producing 9 and 10 wins a year if we were running it today. I would add in several conference championships and maybe another Natty.
That's why I would be excited if Mott from Army was selected. Whatever NU runs and whoever they get to run it they need athletic O lineman

It would have worked in 93-2001. These days, with the lack of talent on the OL, not a chance. It would be Tommie Frazier getting massacred before he even got the chance to consider pitching the ball.

The current offensive line would not start on a big school offensive HS line in Ohio, or any of the other major football hotspots.

#54 would not have started for my HS team, mainly because I was #54.

Clearly the system of development would need to be included. Tough mobile offensive lineman still exist and can be developed. We have skyscrapers who can't move the way they need too. Low man wins the rush game and a mobile guy can do well in the pass game.

Yup.

We've witnessed this.

I'm certain our OL is made Good Men, all. But our qbs are toast. <sigh>

We're all getting old DrF. Let's discuss aches and pains. What's bothering you today? Since I retired I have developed "Golf Elbow." Yes that's a thing. Was playing 2-3 times a week until the pain was unbearable. Down to 2-3 times a month now. Doc says a cortisone shot will help. Sucks getting old man. Weather has been really nice the last few weeks though!
I hear you, only I get it in a shoulder. But I found if I take some steam off the swing both my shoulder and my game improve. heh

lol i wish
Looking at a 4th surgery in 3 years …. Ain’t retired
By the time i get there , not sure i will be able to walk
Fused L5/S1 in 2008. Used to get epidurals in the surrounding area to help control pain. Retired from upholstering and started doing light yoga. As long as I don't do anything physically stupid, I'm pain free. I work in my garden: dig, plant, rake, weed with no problems. I'm just careful not to overdo.

Sorry to be so absent these days. I was doing alterations, temporarily, for a month while the woman who replaced me 16 months ago took a vacation. Owners called me today to see if I would split the job with the gal who "replaced me" as her health isn't great and there are some jobs she won't do and there are some things I do that she doesn't know how, for example I can hem jeans from The Buckle and the like without destroying the intricate stitching on their hems. That's a big deal to people who buy Buckle jeans. Meh. I told them I can help lighten her load but I don't want sacks of alterations every day so I'll give it a try. If I start getting dumped on every day, I'm outta there permanently. Money's great but I don't like being aggravated and I've gotten used to having time for quilting and just hanging with hub in the afternoons if I'm not super busy.

I satisfy my competitive juices with online poker.
Cortisone is a miracle drug— they should sell it in six- packs
Prednisone is right up there too. I suppose if I played on Huskers' O-line, I'd get exposed for occasional steriod use. :ashamed0001:

And you are correct. They started talking to him after Urban declined after his wife said she is not leaving Florida and is done being a coaches wife.
The trouble with the guy at Baylor is he may not fit into Nebraska for one thing. The other thing is the Peddy syndrome, because if we were to court him and I m not certain that is real, is we will have to wait for the playoffs and the bowls and gives him pause for consdieration of NU We need a solid pick that wants to come to Nebraka and I say this to Urbane, ditch the Florida wife and get your dancing partner and pack yore bags

Not sure Urban is the answer but the last line is Solid Gold. Thanks for the laugh val.

There is always going to be something that stands in the way. You have to figure out a way to overcome that obstacle. Like why hire an NFL coach when their season goes into the 1st week of Jan? Early signing period in December is around 10 to 14 days before Jan. You have to have a coach installed well before then. If Baylor makes the playoffs Aranda can still be named HC at NU. And maybe it works out that he could coach them in the playoffs while being NU HC. Or he comes to NU and makes a clean break. You still go after him. And as far as the right fit...He wins games at a place that's tough to do so. So yes the winning mentality and culture are a perfect fit for Nebraska.

Urban's wife may change her mind. We still have a ways to go but at this point he's not coming and they are talking to Aranda.
I'm with SUH. If there had been a meeting of the minds between Trev and Urban Meyer, it would have been announced already. Regardless of what you may think of Meyer, he's not the kind of candidate you keep waiting in the wings.

Cortisone has been around 60 years or more prednizone is what we give our dogs when seriously ill.
I didn't know until I started working at Mayo Clinic a year ago that cortisone was invented by Mayo Research.....read a few articles about how they did it. Interesting stuff.

Cologuard (aka the poop test) is also a Mayo Research product.

Oh they met and talked about the job and an offer extended and he was going to sign. And Trev has said no announcement will come until after the season. You can sign a person and keep it quiet until then.

Im just saying we may have to wait and there in lies the danger. Also Baylor is a strange place religiously speaking. Check it out.
My last concern is that Baylor is winning, its a hell of a long ways from where we are today Light years. I suspect their HC would go NFL before he comes up here.
