I'm not downplaying it at all. I think I've said that it does suck. Try being run by an 85 pound lab in 95 degree weather with about 100% humidity for 3 miles. I could hardly get a breath of air in. Bike riding is also a challenge. Then there's the whole issue of glasses fog and trying to work with a customer. I generally take my glasses off as no matter what mask I've tried, there is a certain amount of fog as no fit is going to be perfect, IMO. On busy days, I'm betting I wear a mask for 6 hours or better. I'm always thrilled when the last fitting/pickup is gone and I can take the mask off. I'm much more productive but wearing a mask beat the alternative when our new case rate was through the ceiling.I'd ask all those that downplay how difficult it is to wear a mask to spend a day running around a construction site in the summer trying to get all the trades to put their masks back on.

Yup, well aware of that. I always cringe every time we have workers in our house. If you have a conversation with them about the shot, "Nope, not getting one" and don't even think about asking them to wear a mask. So I try to schedule things when we can have the windows open and I keep hub out of the area until they've been gone a while and hopefully their spit particles have settled on the floor. I also go in the area with Lysol and spray the snot out of it (literally, I hope). The construction industry is one of those with about half of the people who will refuse to even get the shots, let alone wear a mask.

I'm hoping that when we have the kitchen done, GI's numbers will be low. They were pretty decent when we did the bathroom and that all worked out ok. Right now we're getting 5-6 new cases a day. I'd like to see less than that but it's way better than we were this time last year.

Oh Texas A&M has to be having "fun" with this one. BV-1 variant - named after Brazos Valley - uh huh sure it is. B(e)V(o)-1 variant. It just makes you sick even mentioning this variant. That's how potent it can be. One symptom is that it apparently dissolves everything it comes in contact with - Big 8, SWC, Big 12.
How very noble and virtuous of you.Interesting that you would bring that up.
I am a volunteer and on the county board for Relay For Life. Collectively we voted not to have a relay event this year, 2021. We anticipate that there will be to many people who refuse to wear masks or wear them improperly, that they will be militant in their refusal to cooperate, and that we don't have the people resources to force compliance.
Which leads me to a question. How well do you think people will cooperate and wear masks for the Spring Game and for games next fall. Who is going to enforce whatever masking policy exists, the boy scouts? You have to assume all games and practices will be no mask required.
Hey, I'm vaccinated so should be bullet proof. But I wear a mask in public because I could become a infected and not have symptoms. In other words I'm trying to protect all those refusing to get shots.

Ahh, that was last April when our numbers went through the roof. Most everyone in the neighborhood was doing the same thing. As the numbers went down, I relaxed on those kinds of things. I still see a couple of bike riders with masks, no walkers and maybe 6 people who have their mask on in their car with their windows up.Why in the world are you wearing a mask while walking your dog or riding a bike outside in the fresh air and the sun? Being outside in the sun is one of the safest places to be...unless you are walking your dog with seven or eight people coughing and hacking who are two feet away from you.
I don't believe that I said anything one way or another about not respecting their decision. I did say don't even think asking them to wear a mask because I know what the answer would be and I don't want to p*ss off the person remodeling their house. I would say that as someone entering another person's house, I would think that the onus is on them to respect the rights of the homeowner. You know -- when in Rome, and all that. I've never pressed the issue with any of them however. Now, heres what I have a problem with the above.
Just think on this a minute.
As you know I'm thankful for the vaccines, but am even more thankful for those who are/were/will be naturally infected.
Heres why
Our bodies have varying ways they react to an infection, even covid.
Due to that fact, we also have myriads of ways if in th,e future, we can not only learn better from this about covid, but many other things about ourselves, and potentially prevent another pandemic, or some other well needed solution.
So, yes, mask up around them, but also resoect their decisions and hope if they do get it they dont get sick, but also, know they may end up carrying new hopes for our future
