I'm pleased they pulled it out but this team is just plain awful. Purdue lost to Rutgers last week for Pete's sake.

Blatz;n155367 said:Missouri is ranked #97.... 97!!! Louisville is ranked 31st and that's because they jumped 17 spots. Purdue is ranked 61 and Nebraska is ranked 76th. We freaking UPSET PURDUE. When was the last time we saw the Huskers ranked that low? Meanwhile for anybody wondering, Central Florida is #12 on the CBS Sports Poll. Nebraska fans even debating a 4th year under Riley need to get a grip on reality. The guy sucked when we hired him, and he sucks now. The players don't suck, they are just getting really sub par coaching. That is the reality of Husker Football. Black and White stats, no emotional this or that.

But if last night proved anything, it was that this team has a lot of pride, fight, and character. Calling them cowards is not only incorrect, but also shameful for a supposed ‘fan’ to do. Those are 18-22 year old kids and they have a lot of heart. And people who haven’t played tackle football, especially at that level, have no appreciation for how tough it is, and no basis for criticism of the toughness of those doing it.

Husker94;n155391 said:Where was this "heart", "toughness", "pride" against Oregon (2nd half-A team that quits doesn't mount a comeback), Wisconsin (10:43 3rd quarter - Williams Pick 6. I saw a strong Wisconsin defense that made plays. I saw a Morgan fumble to stop a 4th quarter drive and a sack that put us behind the sticks and caused a turnover on downs in the 4th), Ohio State (Morgan 17 yd TD with 5:52 left in the 3rd when we were down by a ton. Didn't see giving up)? Where was it? Because in those games, I saw a team that not only quit, but played so poorly right from the outset that it made me wonder where their heads were at and what they were thinking.
And hooray, we needed a last minute drive to beat by one point a team like Purdue which is actually worse than we are.
And typical tfree...calling me a bad fan. Times like this is when I want to disclose some things, but know in my heart and mind that it is better to just remain silent because such revelations would open me up to even more derision, insults, and trolling than what I already endure and put up with.
Hunchback Johnny;n155410 said:The hole "It;'s all the coaches fault not the players" wears a little thin with me. Not excusing poor coaching at all but players have to make plays sometimes. One play that stands out was DPE dropping a sure touchdown on a slant pattern in the first half. That is not Riley or Langdenschlatter's fault. Catch the damn ball! If players make a few more plays the game last night doesn't go down to the wire.
Back to my triangle solo lesson.

Husker21stb;n155403 said:You need to differentiate between effort and errors. We played poorly, because we made a ****-ton of mistakes in the NIU game, Oregon game and tOSU game. Making mistakes isn't the sign of lack of heart, which seems to be your siren call as of late. Dropped passes, pick 6's, missed blocks and missed tackles have a lot less to do with effort and a lot more to do with technique and awareness.
Stanley Morgan is the Tommy Armstrong of receivers. Feast or famine. Gates seems to get lost or false start about every 5th play. Tanner has had 1 interception in the past 4 games with tougher competition as opposed to 9 in the first 4 games, so that's a good sign.
If they quit, we wouldn't have won last night. There was NOTHING in the first 58 minutes to suggest we could win that game, but they played to the end.
