Drapery Den was in and out in about 15 minutes this afternoon and installed our duettes (a fancy name for shades). A nice understated gray which picks up the gray veining on the countertops and the gray in the flooring. That makes the kitchen complete, except that I still need to reorganize some of the shelving to make things more accessible. Plenty of time to figure that out.

Arlo's butt and tail. He always has to check everything out.

This is the best news I've heard all week around here.
Still need one more trip from contractor. Probably 30 minutes of work but we're waiting on materials. But as far as I'm concerned, this kitchen renovation is completed. I absolutely adore these window treatments. Today was just chilly enough that I got a good feel what these shades are going to do for our comfort level this winter. It was noticeably more comfortable once we put the shades down. I predict we'll be much toastier this winter. It should only take Drapery Den a couple of weeks to get whatever we select made and we won't have issues waiting on the contractor to finish before we can get these installed.

We both absolutely love the finished kitchen. It is so much nicer than what we had before. I'm glad we didn't rush into the renovation though. We had other versions that we contemplated but we are both convinced that this kitchen is right for us and our house. I don't think any other version would look this good. Boy am I glad this is finished.
