Super Official Nebraska vs Ohio Game Week Thread.

Things I don't want to see in this game
Start with I don't want to see their O line pushing our D line around.
then, I hope I don't see sloppy tackling like reaching and grabbing.
I don't want to see Ohio defenders running free to the QB.

Gentlemen, it is better to have died a small boy than to fumble this football.
Remember John Heisman's instruction

This x 100. Defensively, we need to hold Ohio to 3 yards or less rushing per attempt. Ideally, we hold Ohio to less than 2 yards per attempted rush. If they "Northern Iowa" us, I don't necessarily want to claim all is lost, but certainly giving up a lot of rushing yards to Ohio almost certainly would be a bad omen for league play.

Yesterday in Holgorsen's pre-Ohio game presser, he again mentioned Quinn Clark and said he'd be starting at most schools. Some of you may recall he also mentioned early in fall camp that the TE room was pissed off over the summer that their PT was being limited because Dana was playing a lot of FOUR wide receiver alignments (called 10 personnel.)

I don't think many Husker fans realize what a HUGE advantage a '10 personnel' package gives us--especially against the Big Dawgs on our schedule.

When you have three veteran, high-quality WRs on the field to cover AND THEN throw out Quinn Clark too, that's usually means somebody has to cover one of the four with a linebacker. If none of our WRs miss games this fall due to injury, that grouping gives us a massive mismatch advantage. You can understand why Dana keeps mentioning it with a big grin on his face.

It's one of the things I'm looking forward to seeing Saturday.

Thanks NC.

Now to our prospective Nebraska vs Ohio Score Predictors: CHILL!!!
GIVE THE STAFF A BREAK!

Posters here shouldn't be expecting perfection during Game Week One. I'm pretty sure I've heard Charlie once say that his site's administrative staff show their biggest improvement between Game Week One and Game Week Two.

I predict that if we don’t will big we will hear how bad they suck , and if the win big it will be same posters saying just like last year beat the nobody’s and lose the rest .
Book It ! :catfight:

My focus will be on 4 key areas for Nebraska:

* Can they run the ball?
* Can they stop the run?
* Can they contain the QB?
* Can they tackle? (With all that implies: proper form, taking the right angles, not over-running the ball-carrier, etc)

One thing I want to say: Last year, in our game vs Michigan, the Wolverine defense gave an absolute clinic on great tackling. That's what I want to see from Nebraska.
