Super Official Nebraska vs Ohio Game Week Thread.

My wife bought me a new game day shirt this year; there was getting to be too much of me and not enough shirt ...

This has been my favorite for many years; my daughter bought it for m. It still fits..sorta...

Sure would like to get back to some of the things on that shirt! I noticed my flag is getting kind of ratty, but hey. The bracket on my porch hangs the flag at an angle and my neighbor across the street used to ask, "Who are the Z's playing this week?"

Here's hoping we win one like we're supposed to. GO BIG RED :CORN::banana::CORN::banana:

Nebraska's total offense: 523 yards. 275 passing, 248 rushing, hmm, interesting :Reading1:
They are such an enema, NC. Bitched the entire first half and then look at the end of game numbers. They outscored Ohio 35-8 in the second half, defense played much better, and offense was solid and balanced.

Check that...enigma, not enema. Or not. They are interchangeable in this scenario.

Yeah, I'm just no good until I've had that first, piping hot pot of coffee in the morning. Sure, I've tried other enigmas...

Overall, I'm very encouraged by what I saw from Nebraska today.

1. Aside from Ohio's 1st offensive possession, Nebraska's defense played really well. Any time your defense can limit an opponent to ~300 total yards, you're doing good.

2. I'm still pissed at that horsesh^^ penalty which negated Hunter's TD.

3. I saw numerous examples today of our DL being able to affect the QB without blitzing.

4. Staring with Bowling Green, the RB depth chart should be Rule #1, Nelson #2, and Mozee #3 with Ives and Booth sharing the #4 spot.

5. The OL looked solid, especially in their run blocking. Pass pro held up well, but we'll have to see how they do once we get into league play.

6. Nebraska had a sluggish start but re-bounded quite nicely.

7. When Ohio scored the TD to bring the game within one score, Nebraska answering with a TD was huge.

My one on-going concern? Our opponents QB run game. We still can't stop it. The Ohio QB had 70 yards on 10 carries. Aurich needs to fix that. Other than that, it was a good win today.

172 yards on their first 3 drives, and then 131 on the last 9 drives, decent job "adjusting", or whatever we want to call it.

And no turnovers by the offense :CORN:

I think it wasn't so much "adjusting" as it was settling in. First game of the season, nerves, etc. But yeah 131 yards on their last 9 possessions is an amazing stat!
