I'm a bit surprised his name hasn't surfaced yet (at least, that I'm aware of.) He's currently the OC at LSU but his head coach is going to get canned so he'll be available. He's young, well-connected (two stints with Saban) and highly respected.

And since we love our hometown boys, he is a Nebraska alum. :)

Doc/Kate said "We have heard that the Offensive Coordinator at Army is at the top of a short list."

If Scott wants to go HEAVY on the run game this gent would be a good candidate. Bio:

Brent Davis - Offensive Coordinator - Football Coaches - Army West Point
Let’s be real….is anyone of the belief that SF wants to go heavy on the run? The OL techniques and body types, and the smaller RBs being recruited seem to suggest otherwise.

I know plenty of posters WANT him to want to run, but that’s not the question.

You are correct, I stand corrected. I didn't read that short list part last night.

No worries, we're going to be hearing a lot of different names for these openings in the next few weeks from different sources. We've all been through the name rodeo before. As much as I want to finally be a disinterested fan I'm just Bs'ing myself because like the rest of you I'll be checking the boards 316 times each day. lol

Fair and good question. I honestly have zero knowledge on what direction he will go for next season. The only thing I absolutely know, as do we all, is that our running game is pretty much dead in the water at this point.

Read somewhere else that the next O-line coach may be a coach with his name on the south stadium wall. Is there an ex lineman who is currently coaching? Dominic Riola perhaps? I'm not sure.

Peetz is in a plane on the tarmac at Baton Rouge Intl Airport waiting for the call from Frost.

I don't give a damn where he comes from as long as he motivates, build strong fundamentals, discipline and most importantly understands the ebbs and flows of the game with his schemes. The game within the game has been sorely missing since TO left and that is must have in the tool box of the new OC.

The RBs on the roster that played this year:
6'2" 245
5'10" 185
5'10" 190
5'9" 205
6'0" 215
6'0" 200
5'10" 190
6'1" 230

They have the size. Maybe the new guys use them differently.

Seems like a lot of chatter about Tom Herman. Not a Husker alum, but he does share a special name sake. Maybe they can sell that to the Husker linage only fans.

I don't see Herman taking a coordinator job. Honestly if Fickell leaves Cincy I see Herman taking that job as it is a good program that he can work for a couple of years and then get another major D1 job and he is also familiar with the state of Ohio.
