Huskers Rhule

Every year
There's two ways to get talent. Recruiting and through the portal. 5 recruits are not going to add much to a team. Most of his team came from the portal last season. It looks like an every year project to me.

Only problems with that is he says we will eat all of twitter he’s seen it before
When he said "he's seen it before," I took it to mean that he's witnessed the obnoxious, 'assholelery' of Nebraska fans. He's imagining what we'll be like on twitter when we rise to the top again.

And you know what? He's RIGHT!!!

If we get to the point Bama, Michigan, and Georgia are now, then I don't care if we have some jerk face fans. It means we're back and we aren't going back to what we were.

I wasn't at the Devaney Center on Nash's debut wrestling match. But just reading about how the football team came out and rallied around him gave me goosebumps. Like RED ED and Hunch in the our Nash wrestling thread, I saw it as a visible sign of the new culture that Matt Rhule has brought to the program. (Instead of 'new', I would characterize it as a return to the old "Nebraska Way.")

Rarely does a new coach change things overnight. When you're dealing with organizations, most accomplished change-agents will tell you it usually takes five years to fully flip a program. In today's CFB world, HCs are lucky if they have three. With ALL new head coaches, they TALK a good game about 'a new culture,' 'players having fun,' and 'team unity.' (I can still recall all the gushy things Riley and Frost used to say.) But the ACTIONS we witnessed often told us a different story. So it's natural for Husker fans to have grown skeptical.

On the scoreboard, Year One of the Rhule Era wasn't much better than it was under Frost. But truthfully, I feel better right now about the future of Husker Football than I have since the aftermath of our Holiday Bowl blowout of Arizona back in the Bo days. I think everybody in CFB did. (FYI, only months after that game, Nebraska reached out to the Big Ten and they said, 'Sure, Nebraska. Welcome aboard.')

This is my long-winded way of saying I firmly believe the culture IS changing. This time around, we're not just hearing it, we're seeing it. The Nash support is just one small example of dozens we could cite here.

Let's not kid ourselves. Recruiting some BIGTIME players certainly ratchets up our excitement meter. But its also reassuring to me to see real, tangible evidence our culture is being rebuilt in a way that harkens back to the Bobfather/Osborne era. Funny how history has a way of repeating itself.

I wonder what Nebraska woiuld look like today if they had access to NIL and the portal back then
