Huskers Rhule

This ^^^^ is the Nebraska Way.
Except the bride is pouting in the corner of the reception area with her mom and complaining that this was supposed to be her special day and all the guys in the wedding party are hangin' with the coaching staff, hoopin' and hollerin' about pulling Raiola away from the Dawgs. She's reminding her mom, with tears flowing, how the groom would not allow an Autumn wedding with all the leaves changing colors because it was football season...and now this. The only question left is "Will Raiola remain in Lincoln longer than this marriage lasts?"

I'm just keeping it real.

No, Mister New Mexico, you've proven my point.

The bride was from New Hampshire and doesn't understand what all the fuss was about. Her mother, from Rhode Island, told her "I knew you shouldn't have gotten involved with one of them Midwestern boys. They are so uncultured. What are we doing in this barn anyhow? We should be in Nantucket right now... and you should have stayed with your high school sweetheart, Beckett Finn (the third)."

Matt Rhule said (once again) at today's presser (Innmc post--above or below) that he wants to be honest and transparent with the press. That said, Coach mentioned that they did their due diligence after the season and looked at a number of portal QBs but --- he said they made the decision to go with their freshman recruits.

That caught my attention. He said they decided to 'go young' and 'develop their recruits to our system and our way of doing things from the start' versus going with a 'one and done.'

That certainly changes the narrative we had going a week ago about McCord. If fact, he made a comment that implied (without saying his name) that he felt bad there was a narrative out there that portal QB recruits were shying away from competition when it wasn't true with Nebraska but there was nothing he could really say.

I heard Rhule say explicitly we DID NOT offer any QBs in the portal a scholarship. Given how much McCord was 100% coming to Nebraska I wonder if there is some splitting hairs there on what an "offer" is - but in the end no doubt McCord not coming was in part Rhule's decision.
