Huskers Rhule

oh boy, Cuz is kinda annoying
Oh come on, NC there's a world of co-hosts out there besides our local Nebraska guys. He gives the show a little Philly Flavor. :)

Seriously, this is Coach Rhule using one of his greatest strengths to continue building the Nebraska brand. Not many college coaches: 1) could do this: 2) would be comfortable doing it and 3) have the charisma to draw in thousands of viewers besides Husker fans. From this first Episode on, the House Rhules podcast gives Nebraska a HUGE recruiting advantage.

I felt a story Rhule told on himself in this morning's presser (8/22/25) was worthy of sharing in this thread:

Coach said his family took their sitter with them on vacation this summer. He said one of his quirks is that he can't stay asleep and sometimes gets up in the middle of the night and analyzes past games in preparation for the season.

He said this happened to him during their trip and their sitter got up and discovered him alone in the living room rewatching a game and said, "Who spends their family vacation rewatching last year's Iowa game??!?" :) :) :)

For as much as Nebraska dominated the game statistically, it was 1 play that screwed the Huskers: #54 Benhart absolutely getting destroyed by the Iowa DE who hit Riola, caused a fumble that Iowa recovered. They'd go on to kick a FG to steal yet another win--all thanks to one player whose effort his entire career was mediocre at best.

The fumble was on Raiola, sorry, not Benhart. QB s are supposed to hang on...I know he was a Frosh.

Last year's Nebraska vs Iowa game. Go to the 41:50 mark and watch the Iowa DE beat Benhart like a drum. You can't put that on Raiola because he had no chance due to Benhart's slow-footed incompetence.

With the advent of the new weight loss drugs, my admiration is tinged with suspicion. Just my nature I guess.

With everything at his disposal my money would be he did it the hard way. What kind of example would that be to his players if he didn't practice what he preached to them.

Matt did say that Corey has him working out pretty religiously. If memory serves I think at the time he was shooting for five reps with 225 in the BP as one of his goals.

Is it a strict diet and workout regimen, or did HCMR win a gold medal in the Ozempics this summer?
Man, everyone is dogging Ozempic these days. Ozempic's purpose is to treat diabetes. Hub has been on it for most of a month and his sugars have dropped 30 points, putting him back in the range docs prefer their patients to be at. The positive side effect is that he's also lost close to 10 pounds since the 1st of August. He was not put on Ozempic to lose weight, just a pleasant side effect, along with some not so fun side effects. Not to mention it is expensive as sin, and that's with good prescription drug coverage. Before insurance, 3K for 3 months. After insurance, $350. All of our other scripts are $20 for 3 months.

They are getting dogged on for good reason. Hope hubby doesnt end up blind like the 2000 people who are currently suing them.

Yeah, that number is concerning but you look at the number of people who have used Ozempic with no retinal issues. His side effects are intestinal. Uncomfortable but OTC stuff helps you deal with it. We know there are side effects but there are with any med that's prescribed. You have to do your due diligence, read the brochures that come with your med and be alert for any symptoms that line up with the side effects. Knock on wood, so far so good.
