HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN YET AGAIN??? You couldn’t script a more excruciating way to lose a game (again) in the final moments. We were clearly a better team than Washington yet couldn’t put the game away despite numerous chances on offense. And we were on the verge of stopping Washington offense down the stretch yet kept finding mind-numbing ways to keep them alive. Third and 15 on their own goal line? We let their QB run for a first down. A last gasp Fourth and 18? Their WR makes a miracle over-the-shoulder catch for a first down.

ONLY SEVEN #@$%& POINTS??? All we had to do was score a fourth quarter TD to go up by two scores and put the game away. First and goal from the five---and we get a DELAY OF GAME??? WTF??? We lose further yardage and then MISS THE FG and come away with NOTHING??? WTF??? IMO, it's that sad sequence that cost us the game. You could see the Washington sidelines come alive after that.

WHY DO WE ALWAYS GET STUCK WITH THE B1G'S WORST OFFICIATING CREW??? Rhule complained about tonight's group after the Maryland game---so what does the B1G Office do? They send the damn bunch to Lincoln again. In a conference as large as the B1G, how does that work? BTW, this was the same group notorious for giving Michigan one more second. They absolutely stunk again.

I share more thoughts but I’m too damn angry, frustrated, and beat right now. Let others vent here.

I was at the game and knew as soon as we got penalized for the Delay of Game we were toast. Barney drops a TD pass in the endzone and out crappy kicker yet again misses a chip shot. Cunanan should not be the kicker the rest of the year.

The culture is wrong and that's on Rhule. Want to know who has great culture? Did anyone see the end of the Indiana vs Minnesota game? Minnesota makes a 60 yard FG with 19 seconds left. Ballgame! Not so fast. Indiana with a backup QB gets a huge pass play to Becker and they attempt a 60 yard FG with a new kicker and he drills it! Then with that same backup QB wins the game in OT. No way Indiana should've won that game. Cignetti was looking at his 1st loss to an u ranked team and fall out of the playoffs. Not this team. The culture he has established there is second to none. Not for one second di those players or coaches think they were losing that game. That's the culture we've been missing for years and Rhule doesn't have what it takes to instill that culture because he doesn't have the stones to make those decisions on the coaching staff. Culture starts at the top and Rhule doesn't have it.

I suggested, after our 1st loss, that we might still have a culture problem. Glad to see someone else agreeing with me. An issue with coaches, I'll leave that to those more savvy, but I'll maintain that belief until something makes more sense that we STILL have a culture problem. When the game gets tight, they just seem to fold and that is culture, IMO. How does it get fixed? I don't have a freakin' clue but it just needs to get fixed. Period.

Perfectly said, SUHnami. It's culture. Every player on that team looks at coach matt on the sidelines throughout the game must be wondering "oh no, what is coach freaking out about?" The despair feeds on itself. The Huskers have ZERO confidence to finish a game. None. Nada. I knew at halftime the Huskers would not win this game. The only question was "in what spectacular fashion will they find to lose this one?" They never disappoint.

I stopped watching sometime in the 3rd quarter. The way they were playing I knew exactly how it was going to play out. Oddly enough, this morning I woke up, saw the score and actually didn't even care. Didn't get upset.

I have no excitement left for the rest of the season.

Some of you are talking about culture, bad officiating, bad play and play calling. Simply put, we don’t have a winning attitude. Some thoughts:

* No offense to AC, I’m glad he’s coming back. Having said that, he probably had his worst game at Nebraska, all QB’s will do that (see Dylan Raiola). It’s on the coaches to maybe replace a QB who is having a bad night, again see Dylan come in and beat us in the fourth Qtr or even yesterday when Washington replaced their QB and beat us in the fourth Qtr.
A change of pace, new look, new energy for that moment and momentum goes a long way.

* Look at Indiana yesterday, they are down with about a minute to play, they manage to get down with two seconds to attempt a 60 yd field goal (my stomach lurches if we try a 6 yd field goal). Anyway the dude puts it through the middle with plenty to spare to tie and go to OT. Then in OT Indiana takes care of business. That my friends is a Winning Attitude through coaches down to players.

* Field goal kicking (see above comments) Our HS players are hitting longer ones with consistency. Sometimes it’s snapper and holder, but for Christ sake, we are a Div 1 team, how hard is it to find a scholarship player to do the job?

* Yes, I know the alternate uniforms are fun and cool, but I believe we look foolish when we unveil these then go out and crap the Serta Mattress. Just go out and be Nebraska of old without all the bells and whistles. I don’t think we have that good of a record with those bells and whistles.

* That’s all I got

Holgersen is the problem. He doesn't totally suck like Satterfield or Frost. But he is 1000000% responsible for the last three fourth quarter collapses by calling ****** plays that cannot control the ball. It's Rhule's ship so he is accountable.

It's so freaking easy. Line up in the I and run the football. Left, Right, Options, Counters, and throw play action passes and screens on non passing downs, keep the defense honest.

Get AC out of the pocket and moving.

Our offense was a mess start to finish the second half. We got a 5-star backup that has to watch the guy that starts over him get rewarded for playing full re*arded. There is your offensive culture in a nutshell. Many like AC, but he's a liability. Rule barely plays over a guy that consistently makes bad reads. Maybe 4 touches down the stretch. Asinine.

The D played their hearts out. The referrees kept Washington's drives alive.

And since when does a defender that launches off the ground and makes head contact not get called? Oh that's right, its okay against us.

The officiating calls favored Washington - no doubt about it - but you gotta play through the officials.

Losing like this does point to a culture issue - which likely Rhule won't be able to fix. The most likely path is mediocre football for another year at which point the negativity gets high enough we eat the buyout and move on.

I questioned Rhule's approach to Special Teams this year and my concerns have panned out - ST are a liability to the team. On offense - we've been bad all 4 years under Rhule. 380+ yards and 7 points with 1 missed FG - when Archie had a good night punting.....that points to bad....really bad coaching.

Absofrickinlutely!!!!

Alright, I sat in bed and couldn't sleep. When I get like this I get sarcastic and make stupid jokes. Here are a few.

This first one is stolen. I saw it posted somewhere.

Matt Rhule dressed as a college football coach for Halloween.

Matt Rhule and his wife wanted more kids, but Matt couldn't finish.

Matt Rhule thought it was Christmas; he gives games away to other teams.

WE HAVE A GOOD group of guy s on offense and a defense that would make Lincoln Riley walk around for a week with a boner but for crying out loud let me spell this out AIR RAID does not work in the Big Ten...it may work for Mountain West, nut not in the upper middle west. Holgerson is not committed to the run and has to go. When the going gets tough and we need plays, Rhule cannot deliver and is a hinderance to winning. We have lost 3 games in a row and our only hope to get to a bowl lies in the ability to beat Rutgers and THAT is not certain at this junction. Last nite dressed in black did not scare the Huskies but sure as hell does me, gimmicks dont work like Air Raid.

One last issue left to cure, Rhule and Holgerson need a call from Mayflower Van lines for their two for one special.
