AM2 should he stay or will he go?

I would love that, as would most I'm thinking. You're most welcome for the info. Didn't post it as I figured, incorrectly, that it was already common knowledge.

That's me. Mr. Clueless. Thx agn

I wasn't calling you clueless. LOL! Since the surgery was last week, I just assumed that the cause of the surgery had already been posted. I just happened to come across that story this morning and thought it was already common knowledge. Teach me to assume again.

I didn't think you called me that. Just joshin' [myself, frankly].

I really meant "thank you", tho'.

I would love to see Rattler transfer in. At this point I would love to see us bring in 4 or 5 veteran
OL and DL players. A few punters and kickers. Anyone that is older and can make immediate
impact, other than JC players. Then make them compete for the jobs alongside the players we
have. Let's face it, we just need to build quality depth on our team. The players we have just
finished a year where they very much could have won 8 or 9 games and probably should have
if not for shoddy coaching decisions.

And if healthy AM2 kicking Rattler's ass in a true QB competition would be nice in many ways.
If he couldn't, then as a very solid person backing him up. Smothers hopefully would be in that mix.

If true that is sad. Love him or hate him he sacrificed his body for 4 years and was a great ambassador for the university. He should be given the opportunity to come back and COMPETE for the starting job next year if he wishes.

In sports, beyond size, weight and athletic ability the MOST important attribute is vision. Instinctive vision to anticipate what is going to happen in a split second. I believe this is what has held Martinez back, his lack of instinctive vision.

You nailed it, Linving.

Ironically, I believe Adrian's lack of field vision has been exacerbated by a poor OL --- and our OL struggles have been exacerbated by Adrian's indecisiveness.

I have seen enough over the years to feel good about his departure from DONU, the liabilities outweigh his records, his lack of clutch outweighs his hot streaks between the 20's. Since HCSF is cleaning up the O side coaching staff might as well go full monty and insert, recruit, develop a new QB who will be thankful, motivated, ready willing and able to embrace the new playbook.

My hopes is that the new OC invests in Smothers, from my Lazy Boy I see a lot of up side with that guy.

My guess is the incoming OC has a plan for QB and AM2 was not part of it. Sort of sucks BUT if the end result is winning football games - it HAS TO BE DONE. Wonder how Frost is selling that to the team that elected him captain.................

Take the green jerseys off and maybe he could have developed that

Is it possible the reason that Slauson says he won't be able to come back is because his injury will not allow him to play anymore? This is the same injury on the same shoulder.

Labral anchors are an effective repair.

The rehab is a bitc*. And lengthy.

Where your head is at when you're green-lighted can be equally important, if not more.

Boy I hope that Slauson is wrong. AM2 busted his ass for the Huskers and if he doesn't at least
get a chance to come back and try to go out on a positive winning season it would be damn shame.
No question he had some turnovers that really hurt us, but his positives way outweigh his negatives.

These players aren't the type we should blow up and start over with. This year was on Frost and his bs
schemes and inability to make adjustments. Damn sure wasn't Martinez that blew our season.

You do know he is very near the all time record for fumbles by a NCAA QB? Busting his ass, are you kidding? He should have been benched for his turn overs alone. He got one win over a power 5 school this year, one lousy win. We are judged by the games we win.

He also owns almost every offensive (pun?) record at Nebraska that a QB can hold. Besides just the principle of family that Nebraska has been built upon how do you think that is going to look to outsiders if we slammed the door on him? Especially with the fact that his opportunities may be limited with him coming off an injury. Again Frost doesn't need to promise him anything other than the chance to COMPETE for the QB spot next year. It is the right thing to do...

I was assuming AM was waiting to talk with the new OC before making a decision. Now I don't know.
In his defense (once again) add up 4 years of anybody else's QB and RB's fumbles and see what you get. Because he was not only our QB, he was our featured back. No other QB in the Power 5 had the ball in his hand as much as Adrian.

I've had more than my fair share of "DAMMIT MARTINEZ!" moments. But, realistic or not, there's a sappy spot in my Husker heart that would like to see both him and Frost have a breakout season together next year.
