I do wanna add this however Whipple changed Pitt from a RUN Heavy Offense that had gone stagnant into a east coast version of the dreaded "Air Raid" throw the ball all over the place offense.

This greatly concerns us because of the whole square peg - round hole scenario that we have already seen played out in Lincoln and how it failed.
If all this BS is true Scott Frost will not be coaching at Nebraska for long.
Our warning is this, prepare for more of the same old stuff...and another year of huge player transfers and at least 3-4 years of hugging the bottom of the conference.
I'm hurt and sick to my very core at the very thought of being betrayed like this. My teammates are as well.
I swear to God Above if this is indeed what we have to face when moves like these were the worst choice that Frost could make, then power to him. He just signed his own pink slip.

If I am misinformed then what a relief but my innerds tell me otherwise.
It's been a long day and a freaky frosty Friday on Tuesday if there ever was one so I will leave you all for the day with these couple of thoughts from me as a Linebacker and as a Husker Fan.

First even though I have defended The Hiring of Frost I still have my own personal feelings. Some of which I will share publicly here for the first time.
I seriously want the Huskers to get back to where we left them but those days are obviously gone forever.
I hold serious doubts if we will ever be what all of us from that time period worked so hard to accomplish ever again.
I'm not giving in or up but this ain't easy being cheesey when the limburger got left out to stink up what Coach Osborne worked the majority of his adult life to build for Nebraska and it's people.
I knew in my heart when we were told to our faces, by Frost that he was doing away with the I formation and Fullback we might be doomed prisoners, chained to a sinking ship.....little did I know how right my gut was.

Frost is STILL AS STUBBORN AND DUMB AS HE WAS BACK IN THE DAY ! HE HASN'T GROWN AND LEARNED A FREAKING THING EVEN AFTER COACHING IN THIS CONFERENCE FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND HAVING BALL CONTROL, CLOCK EATING TEAMS ROUTINELY KICK OUR ASS ! if this is indeed his plan going forward with his dream of a Pure pass happy version of a failed system that is somehow going to cure all Nebraska's issues ....he has another think a comin ! Apparently all them ass whippins he got as a player made him crazy stupid but one thing you can bet your behind on is several of us are going to make our feelings known and hold him accountable period.

MAN I GOTTA FIND OUT WTF and do it damned quick.

Y'all have a great week and enjoy the family or go for a walk or hunting or something other than to worry about this mess....

I'm a little confused, Doc. Just hours ago you said,

He has never really had the talent level to work with like he will at Nebraska plus he is 64 yrs old so and been a H.C. more than a couple of times and could be a great influence on Frost.
I'm liking everything I find and read about him."

Somebody on one of the other boards said he was a run first coach and people jumped on before checking the guys history. People are just getting stir crazy waiting for a coach to be named.

Which begs the question...Is there really such a thing as insider information or are we all just getting regurgitated nonsense from other unreliable sources? If Whipple coached Rothschild for the Steelers and a Heisman finalist this year I say we should take a deep breath and give the guy a chance if he is Frost's choice.

Your post made me sad. It’s one thing as a fan in the glory days but to have built it…and sit back and watch it erode to this point has to be incredibly hard. When I read your thoughts I was wondering what the heck Osborne must be thinking. Heartbreaking.

It's definitely not the same as it was 15-20 years ago, but I think that there are still a few people with inside knowledge that share stuff on the boards. Most of it is just spitballing though.

Good point, good coaches coach to their strengths. Having a Heisman quality QB might be a good reason to throw the ball more.

Not sure why they would tell you to keep your trap shut, we were already discussing him as a possibility and it was mentioned on various sites before you even said anything.

Mark Whipple, huh. Better find a quarterback who can sling it 35 times a game and some tackles who can at least offer some sort of resistance. We currently have neither on our roster.

Joseph and Raiola are large upgrades over what we had so I like that. Whipple could be an upgrade if we can get the pieces in the portal. I like that he's an older, experienced guy. The last thing Frost needs is more young bros on this coaching staff. Someone who is experienced and has been through the ringer can possibly be a steadying hand. But if we don't go find the pieces needed in the portal, Whipple could be Diaco 2.0. I mean given the situation that we are in though, it's not like we have a ton of great options. I personally would have liked a more power spread guy but whatever.

Doc, didn't you hear we were heading to OU ready for a steady dose of power run fb and then Frost came out with the same bs?
We have all heard by now that Frost has changed up the game plan at the last minute several times and frustrated coaches and players. Sounds like he either loves playing the misinformation game, even to the point of doing it to those in the program.

I know what his M.O. is up there in Pittsburgh but I don't feel like that's necessarily what him or Frosty will do when he arrives in Lincoln. Coach Whipple has been around quite a few teams, both in the NCAA and the NFL. I'm positive that he has a full deck of game cards that includes both aerial and ground attacks. EXPERIENCE is what I'm liking here upon first glance.

Whipple has been pass heavy at Pitt but he has a history of using some option schemes - I can see why Frost thinks it might be a fit.
