Mark Whipple.

Interesting comments from Frost in an ESPN story about the new hires...

Frost last month said stepping back and turning over the offense to someone new will not be an easy adjustment for him, but he said it's necessary.

"There's things about being coach at Nebraska that I haven't been able to enjoy because of all the time I've been spending trying to fix problems and dig ourselves out of a hole and get the team better," Frost said last month. "I've spent a lot of time offensively, too. Not that I didn't have the right guys. I can't say enough good about them. But I need to really trust somebody. I'll still be involved. That will take a lot off my plate and I think help me be better in some other areas."

This hire is a good hire IMHO. He just led his team to a conference championship. Who on your wish list would have been better?
At 64 years of age he knows what he is walking into. He must be pretty confident in his ability or he wouldn't be putting his reputation on the line to accept this challenge.

Maybe Runza can run a Raspberry Whipple dessert special on Saturdays? Or, since it involves raspberries, maybe Sundays would be better?

A conference championship in the weakest year in 10 years for the weakest conference. Let's not put too much lipstick on that pig.

I have done nothing but answer the phone and return calls from pissed off people.

Seems like I am not the only one who got up grumpy.

To heck with this I'm gonna go for a hike and power down my frustrations.

That's it.....pink slip signed....were doomed to hug the bottom for the next 3-4 seasons.

I miss Beavis and Butthead -- that's where I first saw this video.

Don't mean to be a contrarian, but...I seem to recall that Frost's UCF offense was ranked nationally too before he brought it here.
UCF numbers were put up against a group of 5 schedule though. The ACC is a tougher place.

That was a quote from when he fired the other guys. I remember reading that already. I think it was in his news conference when he was retained maybe.

Whipple has enough offensive experience in both college and the NFL to give us a system that works. I watched some interviews with him and he does think a balanced offense is best and the places that he went ended up having a RB obtain the rushing records for that school. I'm not going to research that any further other than to believe what he said.

Look I'm not trying to ruin any of the Pass happy people's day but I'm telling you UNLESS Whipple changed his whole offensive scheme this type of Throw the ball on almost every down ( can't quote his percentage of pass to run play calls but it's heavily pass favored ) this kind of offense in this conference just ain't gonna get it done. It's been tried and tried and in the Big 10 you just can not put the ball in the air that often period. You have GOT TO BE ABLE TO RUN THE FOOTBALL PERIOD !
I have no idea if Frost is deliberately trying to piss off the fans or what he's doing. He has got to be out of his freaking mind.
I honestly have shut off my phone cause so many guys who played at Nebraska are just mad as hornets and feel betrayed.
I get it I really do but I am just one voice and not a very good voice at that. I let my emotions get in the way of my mouth and speak from my gut or heart or soul or whatever the hell you wanna call it but nobody is gonna give 2 hoots in hell what I think or want.
We all know this is just not who Nebraska is and this kinda crap has already driven a wedge in the fan base between those who say we need to be a RUN heavy BALL CONTROL team vs those who say no we need to be a FLASHY THROW IT ALL OVER TEAM.....how is that gonna play out if we get early cold weather where the ball is hard as granite and the turf is like a frozen plastic rug....and the wind (which never stops blowing on those kinds of days) comes howling in from the Northwest and it hurts to breathe.
That being what it is unless we're going to have all indoor stadiums in the Big 10 ( NOT ) Nebraska of old is dead and gone and Scott Frost of all freaking people was the one who threw the final shovel of dirt on us.
Thanks For Nothing you Arrogant jumped up turd !

Please remember my opinions are my own.....and I speak from the deep rooted Husker Red in me. I might be wrong and I might be right but at least I am HONEST AND DONE DOING FAVORS FOR ANYBODY PERIOD.

SEE YOU ALL IN THE FUNNY PAPERS.

The people who want to "Just win, Baby" are already saying they don't care so long as we start winning.

I loved the old smashmouth football of the Osborne Era and all it entailed.

All I will say is we just have to see what the Spring Game brings, followed by football this fall. I hope it won't be as horrible as a lot of think it will be.
