Uenth's Official Humbled Huskers v. THE Buckeyes Thread

I'll bet Ohio Husker had a good day. I am pleasantly suprised they didn't get blown out but still frustrated because we could have won the game we could of been somebody. We could of been a contender

I am not mad at Nebraska. Can't get mad at them for losing when I never expected a win.

Losing close was literally the best possible scenario. I know people will pooh pooh me for this, but Ohio State played down to our level. They put forth a C+ effort and squeaked by with a win.

Edit: Oh and Ohio State was helped out immensely by the zebras.

So I am not angry that Nebraska lost.

What I am incredibly angry about is how Marcus Satterfied still has a job. His pathetic, throw to the sidelines or for 2 yards passing game is some of the dumbest sh** I have ever seen. All of Nebraska's losses can be traced to the incredibly inept offensive scheme we run. How many more games do we have to lose before Matt Rhule realizes that his OC is the cause of 90% of all our problems on offense? How many times is Satterfield going to call a sideline pass where Banks is blocking? And calling a screen on 3rd down? Dumb as can be.

Defense 101: When the offense is in 3rd and Long, watch for all varieties of screen passes.

I'm just going to say it. Our Golden Boy is not immune to criticism. I know he is just a freshman, but he has missed a lot of WIDE OPEN receivers for sure touchdowns this year, including 2 today.
I agree let HH have some reps.... so far DR hasn't performed any better than HH

I tend to agree with this sentiment. We did not get their best today sandwiched between Oregon and Penn State. Still liked our fight today though. Frankly I was expecting much worse.

Yeah, I didn't even make a pick in the predict a score contest. I couldn't see a win and just hate to bet against the Not so Mighty Men of Corn. I did find myself enjoying the game immensely though because we kept on fighting.

As far as officiating goes, I have said this for years and I'll say it again. Great teams win despite bad officiating. We've been jobbed by zebras under Dr. Tom and still found a way to win.

I know Satt is taking a shitton of heat and, frankly, I'm not savvy enough to know what the answers are. I do know that something needs to be adjusted and logically it is our offense so something does need to change on that side of the ball. Far be it from me to say what it is or isn't.

GO BIG RED & WIN OUT!!!

I'm not mad at the team either. I am, however, upset that poor coaching decisions keep taking chances away from the team. When I said this one hurts, I meant I am hurting for the players. They gave their all today against the #4 team in the country AND the officials, and deserved better..

After Hartzog’s interception to the 7 when they stopped us at the 1 - would have maybe been a good time for a package of plays featuring Haarberg.
Even if they ran the same play and Dowdell ju.ps over the pile but b4 he does that Dylan pulls the ball and walks into the endzone. Everyone else on defense was crashing down on the middle of the line. Even Satt should've expected that.

Yep. They has Ohio State on the ropes. A bad play call on 4th and Goal at the 1 coast us the game. Also continuing to call those screens and swing passes when the WRs aren't blocking and shown they can't on those plays, stop calling them. I think we did a dozen of them and everyone of them went for a loss. Ohio State scouted us on those and shut it down every time.

I dunno. I think it was a very reassuring game. All three squads improved a shi*-ton since last wk.

I remain ready to believe.

Ohio St knew they were coming, as many on this board knows due to formation and down. Very predictable at times.

+1 on the Raiola thoughts. I see no sign of the "It" factor that the top QBs have. I think his opposite number has had better games than he in most of the games this year. He absolutely choked on two TD throws that would have changed the outcome today.
The defense stepped back up and played a heckuva game against a ton of great athletes. Will Howard was on fire, despite the pressure. They have talented receivers and Running Backs.
Special teams had a good outing. It was so good it was tempting to call it a great game. But, it's just our expectations were so low.
The offense actually improved over the last few weeks. Today they were comparable to a mediocre B1G team. That's improvement.

Damn! I said exactly that after that play!
