Huskers just played against a damn good coach with a chip on his shoulder. That is a lethal combination, and when Coach Cig realized Nebraska was no match for his Hoosiers, he relished the idea of pouring it on to make a point. The fact that Nebraska just plain ole quit in the second half is most upsetting.

This week against the Buckeyes is a hole different animal. Nebraska is sandwiched between Oregon, a bye week, and Penn State. To be clear, Ohio State could very easily do the same thing to the Huskers, but I think they skate to an easy victory. Day will call off the dogs somewhere around 31-10. They have nothing to prove and want to be healthy and fresh for the Nittany Lions.

We, as Husker fans, should not take this outcome as improvement. It's merely circumstance.

Maybe. Or they come in, let their guys try some different stuff to camo their plan vs. PSU, against a confused and disheartened NU, and put another whuppin' down.

I worry that we'll go into a tailspin as this season goes on. Hope we show more grit than in past seasons. This one can still be retrieved.

I think that anyway you slice it, we are facing a loss against the Suckeyes. A miracle could happen, but I don't expect that and I've been pumping sunshine all season so that says a LOT.

I don't pretend to have the answers but Rhule needs to be doing some serious soul-searching (probably should have done that during the bye week).

Hope we can at least look respectable next week.

Hate to use an old Iowa State Bookstore motto but my catchphrase for the next week is this:

Maintain Dignity against the Buckeyes & GO BIG RED!!!

We simply took on the stench of a Frost coached team but having said that, we have been sliding for a few weeks. We were not prepared and the mafia coach had his kids finely tuned, did I say we werent prepared? I would not trust satterfield with a pop warner team and our vaunted D was non existent and our not so special team looked like crap and set the tone of the game early on. the gnawing feeling in my gut is this the reason Rhule isnt still at Carolina. Sorry but its true!

Unless Satterfield has an epiphany on Saturday and our Offense puts up some serious points on Saturday we may as well chalk this next game as a loss.

I think we were all expecting a loss to Indiana. Just not in the manner we saw yesterday. Everyone has been calling for a loss to Ohio State. That is actually our only saving grace. No one expects us to beat the Buckeyes. May as well blitz them all day, get aggressive on offense, and come after the punter/kicker on every attempt if they even have a chance to punt/kick. Keep cycling in guys. We have nothing to lose. Might as well bring it.

I fully expect the Huskers to lay another giant turd - tOSU will be the best offense we face all season. Another 40+ to less than 10 is pretty likely IMHO. Our offense and special teams are so bad right now the defense is going to collapse under the pressure.....again.

This game is the BUCKEYES VS the bottom feeders of the B1G... Sorry but that's us.

I offer a slightly different take: Ohio State, coming off of a bye week, is incredibly pissed off at the way they lost (by one point) to Oregon. They want to make a statement to the CFP Committe and absolutely demolish us. We already know that our defense can and will completely give up if the going gets tough. OSU has the system, play-caller, and athletes to light up the scoreboard and we end losing, again, 77-0.

Now that 77-0 is not an official prediction, just an illustrative example of how Ohio State could approach this game.

Personally, I have lost so much confidence in Matt Rhule. I am literally expecting Nebraska to lose to Ohio State by at least as much as we lost to Indiana. I think it's going to be ugly, I think we're going to get utterly embarrassed again, and like a sad masochist, I'm going to watch and cheer for the Huskers any way.

Getting embarrassed by Ohio State doesn't bother me. It's getting embarrassed by Indiana that still bothers me. I know their coach is dang good but it's Indiana.

Yeah but it's not our daddy's Indiana.
True they aren't but that are not near as talented as we are but they are WAY better coached. And that was evident in the game yesterday. Lower star recruits coming from smaller schools absolutely destroying a team with more 4 stars than Indiana probably has starters. Just shouldn't happen. That's the hardest thing to grasp at the moment.

Yesterday's loss was squarely on the coaching staff. They didn't prepare the team properly and it showed.

It does bother me. I don't care if the opponent is Ohio State, Alabama, Georgia, etc...

If Nebraska plays well and loses a close game, yes it is disappointing, but I can handle that.

But getting blown out, dominated, and losing by wide margins should NEVER happen. We're Nebraska for cripes sake, play with some passion, dignity, and pride--fight to the bitter end.

I would agree with the point about being competitive. NO team in the B1G (or any conference) should be 7 touchdowns better than Nebraska (including Ohio State). Not saying we should be #1 or go undefeated but we should be able to step on the field and put up a RESPECTABLE fight against anyone. That is what Nebraska fans want, to be respected again and not be embarrassed.

You're thinking pre-NIL. That changed everything. Passion, dignity, pride -- all of those flew out the window, thank you NIL!
