Sources: USC's Nelson, ex-No. 1 recruit, to portal
Nelson also was the No. 1 quarterback in the last recruiting cycle and the top recruit in California, out of Los Alamitos, and he was the national Gatorade player of the year in 2022. He threw for 2,898 yards, 35 touchdowns and 4 interceptions as a senior in high school.
He enrolled early at USC and sat behind starter Caleb Williams this past season. He appeared in just one game, throwing three times and completing one pass, which will allow him to use his redshirt and give him four seasons of eligibility remaining.

Isn’t he about the same player as what they previously had? Maybe a little better runner and more of a risk taker, maybe a little less of a leader, but a lot of similarities.
I kinda think so too. Plus, he has to learn how the program and scheme function.
Imo Day should have had McCord's back and kept him another year. When you have the wrong fit, you don't want to hang on forever. But sometimes a good, but imperfect, fit can be tweaked with a little effort into something that becomes something very good.
Osborne was a master at this. I hardly ever used the word tweak until Coach Osborne started throwing it around every year. TO knew what he wanted and "tweaked" things until it worked........despite what many fans, including myself, were crying for. I'm glad he didn't listen.
Imo Day is succumbing to fan pressure that just might be a bit unreasonable. Howard just might be the answer to Day's dreams. He better hope so.
Interesting. Supposedly he was a player in NU negotiations as well. How problematic,
I don’t know.
Looking to go to Miami to be close to his bro but needs to be granted an additional year as he is currently out of eligibility

REPORT: Stunning Details Emerge On Maryland QB Taulia Tagovailoa Trying To Enter Transfer Portal For "Flashy Reunion"
“The catch is in the final phrase of Locksley’s comment, referring to Tagovailoa’s eligibility status: he’s used all of it. He would need to win a waiver from the NCAA, which is no sure thing because there’s little precedent for any claim he’d need to make. He played in five games as a freshman at Alabama, one more than allowed to call it a redshirt season, so it would be difficult to cite a paperwork error, injury or other extenuating circumstances. Both Alabama and Maryland would need to sign off too, which also seems far from a sure thing.
But in this almost anarchic college sports age, you never know what a good lawyer can make happen. Tagovailoa’s family would like to bring him to the city where his brother, Tua Tagovailoa, is a star, sources in Miami and Maryland told IMS. Putting aside your possible Maryland fan hood, it’s a brilliant marketing idea, two brothers slinging it every weekend for two big-name teams in a flashy market? The marketing opportunities could be endless.”

I'll be stunned if this is approved but with the NCAA...who knows. I hope he isn't granted another year since he's used it all up. He wasn't injured like some players.
If they do , then they might as well remove all restrictions and make it a
Pro sport
There is a rising din amongst NFL players upset with the number of college kids making a lot more money than the pros are. Some of these college kids better save every penny because the endorsement money will be a much harder get once out in the "real world".
Thus my response to the guy who bought a Lamborghini to drive in to sign his loi
