Another takeaway from Rhule's Monday presser:
He announced that he's returning to his previous long-standing policy of no season-long team captains.
I had decided long before Monday that his announcement on the issue -- either way -- would tell us A LOT about last season.
IF COACH ANNOUNCED CAPTAINS. This would've told me that he had finally, by Year 3, bought into Nebraska's historical 'Team Captains' culture.
IF COACH ANNOUNCED NO SEASON-LONG CAPTAINS. This would tell me
that he felt pressured into doing it last season in order to "Keep Dylan Happy." No more Dylan? It would be back to the old way--which is what we're doing.
For the record, I would've been fine with it either way. GO BIG RED.
