Speculation on Dylan’s Future

It looks like our high for sack percentage was 2023. More passes meant more sacks, but a lower percentage.

This is a surprise, numbers don't lie. Looks like we all might have been off a little about Dylan, although he did get sacked 9 times against the Gophers. Harburgh was our main guy getting sacked in 2023. I'd say this reflects heavily on his Uncle.

For reference, google AI said IU gave up 21 sacks in 2024 and 18 in 2025

AI is not infallible.

Yep. The sacks yielded were mostly not Dylans fault but his Uncle's. The problem is he and his Dad are very close and they overlooked Danny's incompetence eventhough he got Dylans leg broke. Yes Dylan held the ball too long at times but the sack issue is almost squarely on Donny.

Oregon. Committed Monday.

I guess Oregon has the kind of OL that can protect him, but he just seems like the kind of QB that would be a bad fit for the style of offense they run. Having DR at QB completely eliminates zone read from your play call options.

The media coverage on DR from Oregon is all sunshine and roses - based on his 5 star rating and arm. When Nebraska fans jump into the comment sections to explain there might be some issues - from his mobility to his dad - Oregon fans are not too happy to hear from us. WE WARNED YOU DUCK FAN!

Hey Oregon, congratulations! Wow, you really stole a great QB from us. He's going to be everything you ever wanted in a QB. And as a bonus, you have all that NFL expertise in his family. Be sure to listen to all their advice, they really want what's best for your program. Just remember, as a Super-Duper highly rated 5 star, Dylan will need lots of support and leeway, his genius can't be contained. Whether it's changing the call at the line of scrimmage to an oddly unsuccessful play, to waving his arms at the fans to be a cheerleader, to running onto the field 15 yards ahead of the team, his leadership is unique.
Best'O'Luck.
PS You did watch some film, didn't you? Oh yeah the stats will tell you all you need.

That's good for us. I could only imagine the narrative of DR having any struggles this year. His problems in the past certainly wouldn't be laid at his uncle's feet, but on our inability to develop him.

Dante Moore is returning to Oregon. Looks like DR will redshirt and ride the pine. I hope he's ok with that. Really surprised me he wanted to go there.
You and me both. I couldn't imagine him playing second fiddle. Throw redshirting into the mix and I'm gobsmacked!

There must have been some serious doh ray me promised for 2027 or I don't get why Mahomes Lite took this deal.

If he struggles, lots of Nebraska fans will say I told you so. If he plays well, many of the same fans will complain about Coach Rhule and say I told you he can't coach or develop players.
So its a win win for many fans.

There's a chance the redshirt rule changes to 9 games this upcoming season. Coaches voted to change it so now its on the NCAA to make it official.
If it occurs, redshirting will be no existent.

There is also a chance his leg is worse off than was thought and he needs to redshirt.
Or maybe, he wants to sit a year and learn.

Yeah, the leg thing sounds very plausible. It was a wicked injury for sure.

So how much is Dylan's NIL deal? Hard to believe he is getting 3 mill to be a cheerleader. He won't last a year. Dom will not be able to strongarm Lanning into have no-competition QB depth charts at Oregon. I'm guessing Dylan's timeline will look something like this

2026 - Redshirt - He'll see a stacked QB room in Eugene (as they always have) and realize he will never be given the reins
2027 - Junior Season Mississippi St
2028 - Senior Season North Carolina

And so ends the Vunderkid's collegiate career.

The young man wants no competition in the QB Room wherever he goes. Only Coach Matt and the Huskers would be that gullible. He'll be doing videos with Harrison Beck in a few years.
A lot of folks honestly thought he was headed to Miami as their offense fits him better than ours and Oregons and Beck is done after this year. He maybe out of options now. I'm not sure this is true yet. We'll see.
