Rumor: Possible expansion announcement this week.

We're headed two a two or three "superconference" set-up for sure. AFC-NFC-WTFC
Agree with your analogy and it begs the question, if the WTFC gets a seat at the table is one better off playing in the WTFC? Let's say the playoff expands to 8 teams. Three guarantees from the SEC, three from the B1G, one wild card, and one from the WTFC. Do you like your chances being in the Top 3 in a conference that includes Ohio State, Michigan, Penn St, USC, Clemson, Oregon, Washington, and Florida St...or being the solo representative of a conference with BYU, Kansas St, Stanford, and North Carolina?

In many ways it mirrors the way college basketball operates now. The upper echelon of the Big Dawgs will be guaranteed a seat. But the WTFC's representative can't afford to lose their conference championship or they're likely out.

Won't surprise me if this comes true but it does slightly raise one eyebrow that virtually no other news service/outlet is picking up on or even mentioning this "story."

It seems to me like every time a team changes conferences, the Twitter rumors start flying with the names of a dozen more teams that "could" change conferences as well.
Could is the word
But I do think the pac is dead and the acc will be as well the one’s not wanted by the B1G and SEC will scramble and join the 12 which will change its name to the BIG 68

Wouldn't it be ironic if after all the dust settles from realignment we are back in the old Big Eight with the original members?

ACC seems like a 2 headed TV audience for football.

Big Ten schools will receive about $80 million each year from its TV contract, whereas FSU currently receives $42 million. Its 7 vs 7 for ACC members yay and nay to uphold the GOR/Grant of Rights contract. Yays include Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Boston College, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Duke and Wake Forest. Nays include North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Miami, North Carolina State and Virginia. Look for one of the current yays to get an invite. Food for thought: The ACC has five schools that are AAU members. They are UNC (nay), Virginia (nay), Pitt (yay), Georgia Tech (yay), and Duke (yay).

I am surprised FSU is that high vs. other teams on the list. But - eye balls are eye balls - if they draw them somebody is going to ensure they get a seat at the big boy table.

Let the SEC have FSU. Panhandle people are nearly indistinguishable from rural Alabamans or bayou people.

I know some have expressed they aren't fans of adding Cal or Stanford, and I completely understand the lack of excitement for making either a roadtrip. However, the B1G increased the level of competition when it added USC and UCLA, because like it or not, neither are likely to be easy games going forward. Is it really so wrong to add a couple of teams that aren't as likely to be annual meat grinders? This is a tough conference, and while we all like to beat our chests and say 'bring on the competition', the reality is, it's going to be a big task to be in the upper 20% that will likely have a shot at making the playoffs. Even then, the playoff seedings will be looking at W/L records to some degree, so an extra 'patsy' on the conference schedule may not be a terrible thing.

Assuming the Big 10 goes back to divisions at some point...the more teams the Big 10 adds out west, the less likely we will get stuck with a group of western teams in a division.

On the Eastern side, I'm a little surprised the Big 10 isn't making more of a push for Miami instead of FSU. Miami is an AAU school in a big city TV market.

True, but as the graph shows, the only teams that draw viewers are Clemson and FSU. I do agree that the AAU factor will likely be a heavily weighed component, but if we are strictly talking eyes on the game, FSU is a much bigger draw.

If FSU and Clemson leave, I wonder what will be the play of the remaining teams in the ACC. Will the other ACC teams try to grab some G5 schools to fill out their league or will they try to merge with another conference like the Pac 12? Will teams with something to offer (like UNC, Miami, and Virginia) try to leave for the Big 10 or Big 12?
