Me either, I thought he would be a big part of the offense next yearDid not see this one coming (if true)
If its Branch that would be nice. I'd take his brother at S as well.Wonder if we are going to land that USC WR?

I do not like the exodus of all these home-grown WRs - I count 4 in the portal so far. Hope it doesn’t negatively impact recruiting in and around Omaha in the future.
We were so wound up about protecting our 500-mile radius and recruiting at home... that mauy have mattered more in the days of JV's and walk-ons... but thus far- a lot of the home-grown talent hasn't been good enough to get on the field it seems.
If they are being asked to leave, that’s different than if they are too impatient to work hard to earn playing time. Admittedly, I have no idea what their reasons were. But there’s something about Nebraska kids playing at Nebraska that I will miss if they keep transferring out.
If you believe Sean Callahan (and I do), our Nebraska guys weren't cutting it. DH reportedly came in and told Rhule the team needed a serious upgrade of its Wide Receiver room (players and coaching). If they are being asked to leave, that’s different than if they are too impatient to work hard to earn playing time. I can believe that. It’s very reasonable that the top in-state talent in a given year are projects compared to other top recruits. If you believe Sean Callahan (and I do), our Nebraska guys weren't cutting it. Why? Because they are from Nebraska? It kills me when people dont think athletes from the state (especillay small schools) can be as good as those from other states.I can believe that. It’s very reasonable that the top in-state talent in a given year are projects compared to other top recruits.
It’s a numbers game. There isn’t a state with a small population considered a recruiting hotbed. If we got the top 5 in state players every year, I'm guessing a decent percentage of them wouldn’t turn into impact players (and I’d say the same about other states of similar populations). For example, the 4 WRs in their 1st or 2nd year who hit the portal and couldn’t see the field despite a very lackluster WR room. And maybe it’s just skill players. OL and TE recruits may fare better. Why? Because they are from Nebraska? But we dont know what happened for them to not see the field. Look what happened with EJ. Was he the third or fourth best back on the team? Wasnt seeing the field so must be right huh. I dont always trust that the coaches put the best players on the field. You hope they do but there are personality conflicts and can keep players off the field. I think Lloyd and Coleman may prove that they should have seen the field more here at Nebraska. It’s a numbers game. There isn’t a state with a small population considered a recruiting hotbed. EJ wasn’t the workhorse back for Satterfield, but he got on the field enough for us to speculate that he deserved more touches. I don’t recall seeing McMorris or Hall take a snap, including in the UTEP game (they may have, just stating my memory). But we dont know what happened for them to not see the field. Of course we want kids from Nebraska to stay and become difference-makers. To imply the coaches are biased against home state players is hogwash. Why? Because they are from Nebraska?
If true, I trust DH. He's one of the best OCs in the game. Watching bowl games this season I can see a difference between our wr’s and some of the better teams out there. The good teams wr’s seem to catch and then make a guy miss , whereas ours catch and go down . I think some of this is our routes and I fully expect this to change under DH .If true, I trust DH. Also I love to keep instate guys but if they aren't cutting the mustard then we need to find one's that will. And I do agree a new WR coach was needed cause McGuire wasn't very good and we didn't have great play out of that room.Watching bowl games this season I can see a difference between our wr’s and some of the better teams out there. our most explosive passing plays under satt came from doctor Tom’s playbook
