Rhule's coaching staff

There is an old saying, you get what you pay for. Up to recently, that has been one of NU's biggest killers. Trying to build a winning team on the cheap.
I'm pretty conservative financially, but I've always believed in investing......and long as it's wise investing. For a football program a good pool of assistant coaches is one of the best investments a program can make imo.

I couldn't agree more. And like Dr F, I hope a bunch of them start getting HC offers. Because that means we are picking the right ones.

If DH stays, I'm thinking he'll want to bring in people he's worked with at other stops, a la Rhule, Frost, etc. That probably means we'll have new QB and WR coaches. Thoughts?

WR coach Garrett was originally hired as an analyst. I think this season shows the chasm between analyst and coach. A Coach has to figure out how to get results out of players. I expect a new WR coach next year.

I got a feeling if DH stays he is gonna want to bring in a few of his guys. I don’t think Rhule is gonna have a problem with it

Surprised they are bringing in defensive position coaches before hiring a DC. I know they like Simpson as a recruiter in the Miami area, but unless it will be Butler as DC and he signed off, it seems odd.

Given that Rhule runs things as a CEO - and how he talks about valuing communication, I'd be very surprised if the DC hasn't already been selected and had a say.

That's what I am thinking. He is probably waiting for the new DC to finish a bowl game before announcing.

But by the same token, spending the most doesn't mean you get the best. When buying consumer products, there is always a nexus where price and quality meet. Where the quality diminishes and you're just over-paying needlessly. Talent acquisition in college football is no different.

Mark Mangino, Bo Pelini, and a couple of Stoops brothers are all available. And they're not just tough, they're Youngstown tough.

Just saying...
eff Youngstown tough. Watched the fatmat at KU, the Boster at DONU and the Stoops idiots at Soonerville. One of the Stoops was ok. The rest of these guys - meh
