Rhule's coaching staff

Glad you got the reference. That song was playing in my head as I was typing it.

But it's 2 out of 3 ain't bad...

:catfight:

And for the record, Meatloaf's album, Bat Out Of Hell was like the soundtrack of my life from (trying to remember) like 1978-1979.

I still know Paradise By The Dashboard Light by heart as if it happened only yesterday.

HOLY COW! Shatel's article brought out the "feels!!!"

Genuine recruiting -- if done well -- requires A LOT of hard work.

It's one thing to 'touch base' with small town Nebraska coaches (and it's sounded to me like even the touch base part hasn't been happening much,) but it's a whole different level of relationship-building to do the kind of leg work that Coach Foley put in that Shatel described in his article.
He's following the Bob fathers first moves

The coaching and analyst moves look like good ones so far - but we'll know based on the product on the field. Some of the AD training changes are more Trev (not Rhule) putting his stamp on things going forward across all sports.

There have been some interesting choices Coach Rhule has made since coming aboard but his Chief of Staff is one of the more 'out-of-the-box' ones that speaks to his 'big picture' vision. He hires Dr. Susan Elza, the woman in charge of the University Interscholastic League in Texas. In the State of Texas, the UIL is the one responsible for running all of the State's interscholastic competitions similar to what the NSAA (Nebraska School Activities Association) does in Nebraska.

If you are Coach Rhule and your plan is to make Texas a MAJOR recruiting focus, what better person to coordinate your efforts in the State than to hire the UIL's head honcho? Seems to me it would be hard to find anyone in the State who over a number of years has developed stronger relationships with all the key Texas HS coaches and athletic directors.

In her farewell letter to folks back in Texas reported in Chris' link above, Elza wrote: "My life has been transformed by the incredible leadership that Texas is blessed to have throughout our public schools school systems. I am so proud to be a part of the coaching brotherhood and sisterhood that places every ounce of their efforts into making kids better," she wrote. "The bottom line is the people in these roles throughout Texas made me better, and thank you will never be enough. ... I am proud to be a Texan, and will always consider Texas as my home! Forever Texas!
Go Big Red!"

Hmmmmm....you think she MIGHT help Rhule and his staff in Texas? :) :) :)
