I'm not an AD, so I only know so much of what he will be looking for, but what if through his discussions with Riley about Riley's short and long term plans for the program, he likes what he hears. Is it possibly then for us to only have 3 more wins and Riley is given one more year to prove that his plan is taking the program in the right direction? I see it as a possibility, even if not a likely one. Maybe Moos wants to see another year with a the influx of young talent. It will be interesting to see how the next 6 weeks plays out for sure.

IMO at this point, it's about more than winning. It's about long-term growth and the overall "health" of the program. It seems we finally have a President and Chancellor that understand Husker football is more than just Saturdays in the fall. The Husker football program provides an identity for not only the University but also for the state of Nebraska. A strong football program in Lincoln directly or indirectly benefits all sports, academics, research, the university endowment etc., etc. Don't get me wrong, the university can survive as a strong institution without a powerhouse football program however for UNL, the football program helps to provide a lot more opportunities for non-football related ventures. It's also about bringing a fractured fan-base together. I'm also thinking that while some may not have SF as their #1 choice, very few would angrily disagree. Also, if the program is truly in need of a 4-5 year "rebuild" the likelihood of the fan-base giving SF that time is higher than with most any other potential head coach. Many people say that all they want is "progress and improvement" not instant results. SF can provide that even if it's only in attitude and motivation until all the pieces come together.
As I have said before... I support Riley, this staff, these players and this team. I just don't think it's going to work out.
Just typing out loud. Flame away. I can take it.![]()

I said there were no wrong answers--guess I was wrong
