I'm hearing rumors flying around that Manning isn't with the team anymore. Can anyone with better knowledge of what's going on confirm or deny this?

Just wondering...is there EVER any good news? Maybe there is and I just don't see it.

I'm tired of reading that this player quit or that player is in the portal. As Chris Rock would say, Tired! Tired! Tired!

Yah, I'm still getting over losing JD and Washington.

I assume that a guy who us the second ranked JC player has displayed the ability to get it done on and off the field.
Why, all of a sudden, do these guys fall apart here? At the very least he's not seeing the field. Why? It's not an accusation, just a question.
You'd think that the higher acclaimed recruits would have a higher tendency to be starters. Seems more of a curse. There does seem to be a disturbing dynamic going on. We just recruited one of the top linebackers in the country and he leaves overnight.
I've heard discussed that the reason we get 4 star guys is, while they are athletically there, they are being snubbed because they are suspect in other areas. Either figure out how to handle these fragile egos, up your recruiting game to get better balanced 4 star guys, or make due with pedestrian 3 star types.

A ton of coaches win a lot of games with pedestrian 3 stars, or lower. It takes good players in a great system. Trying to get great players into a good/fair/poor system DOES NOT WORK.

Get them, form an identity and coach they up.

It really helps though to sprinkle in a few "game changers". They have to have the right internal makeup however. It's really hard to change character...…..almost as hard as changing the physical aspects. I haven't written Omar off. I hope things work out for everyone.

nobody likes losing. Easy to second guess your decision to come to Nebraska when things are going the way they are. We've had how many receivers leave? 20 something... What gives?

We still have culture problems in the team - it is evident in how we play and the fact we can't get new talent to acclimate. Frost needs to figure out some team leaders with actual stones to clean up bad behavior - I am talking a few Juniors and Seniors making it clear to assholes that run their mouths out of turn tow the line or pay the price. Until that happens - it is what it is.

Here are issues that plague all coaches now days:

The new, modern athlete believes they can play at the highest level in college as a brand new freshman and demands immediate playing time. There is no more developing behind more experienced players, learning a system and getting stronger and faster. Play me now or I'm gone.

When a player screws up in a game, in practice, in class or out in the community, there are no longer any consequences. They KNOW they will still see the field and play. You see it ALL the time during games. A player makes a crucial, boneheaded mistake (penalty, etc.) and they are never pulled from the game. They keep playing.

Our passive, PC, cancel culture has worked its way into all levels of athletics where now you are seeing 15, 16, 17, 18 year olds calling the shots or it could mean a coaches career.

And it is not going to improve.
