NIL.

That’s total idiocy.
As someone who lives in Florida, I can tell you on a personal level. I like my state tax better then what I paid in Nebraska

AI
Florida has no state income tax, resulting in $0 state tax on $1 million
. Nebraska has a graduated income tax with a top rate of 5.2%, meaning $1 million in income could result in roughly
$50,000

Now property taxes are asinine in Florida, because of the ridiculous price / home values

So the state gets your money eventually under a different tax. And yet they choose not to get a penny from the millionaires who come in to do business there. While that isn’t necessarily unfair to residents, I’m sure most people who are being kept from homeownership would rather have a home than have FSU win a championship.

What I was really getting at is that some states have operated without state taxes and, for better or worse, they have dealt with its impacts. For states to change their tax code specifically to exempt kids flush with cash and not to better serve their residents is idiotic. The state of Kansas went through financial hell when Governor Sam Brownback eliminated corporate tax sometime in the 2010s. Once that happened, a huge chunk of professionals (think doctors and lawyers) created LLCs to shield themselves from taxes. This led to revenues plummeting and the very red state to elect a Democrat governor.

Exactly what I was going to say. The Government is going to get what they deem necessary one way or another. We thanked our lucky stars we moved back from KS when we did. Just before the cluster*ck you mentioned happened. That State was just gushing blood -- it was really bad. And to make NIL exempt from taxing is not just plain wrong, it's absolute lunacy. But it's Florida which is about like saying "Oh, it's Texas.".

Property taxes arent just asinine in Florida, all the community Rotary member types hide their land in untaxable family trusts. Just watched a local pharmacist retire and sell off over 100 acres of trust valued at $1500. 600 homes are going up on this $1500 land that sat in a trust for over 30 years. People should dig through GIS information in Nebraska in places like Lancaster, Sarpy, and Douglas County because its probably just as bad. Fraud imho.

When you depend on everyone else paying your share, can't let them students have a free lunch.

Perhaps, I'm misunderstanding, a lot of crap going on here today. I assume you are talking about the mucky mucks hiding their property in trusts to avoid paying taxes. If so, that is correct. Regardless, if you are making a million or two or three from NIL (or anything else), you should be paying taxes on it AND you should be paying your own damn tuition. PERIOD!

Just pointing out that to a college kid , who will probably rent . It’s almost a new vett

How poetically fitting that in this absolute dumbest effing timeline we live in, where so many people in this country celebrate their stupidity, ignorance, and greed, and have the most warped and nihilistic, me first, eff everyone else type of mentality that it manifests itself into the utter collapse of not only college football but the entire country.

Well done, morons.
