On McKewon's Pick Six podcast he and Evan Bland were mentioning a QB that hasn't entered the portal yet, but is probably going to, and if he does, will be who Nebraska wants. ?? Very cryptic but they made it clear it wasn't anyone being talked about currently.
Nothing wrong with Smothers. He has the skills and just needs a coach to help him get on the field. Don't sell him short.
not counting him out at all. I think H.H. is gonna be the man QB#1 in a couple years as well. but its time to have some serious competition at that spot . I mean real every play counts pressure in practice so when in the game its nothing new, and that only happens with a at least 3 guys fighting hard for that job
That was Friday. Word on Sunday is that Frost sent all of his coaches to Baton Rouge to put the full-court press on for LSU's Myles Brennan.
Well just got home about sundown ( up here ) and after taking care of the hounds and horses and Buffalo we came in, Kate Fired up the Grill and threw a couple of Ribeyes on to cook while I got cleaned up and after we ate we sit down and go through the paper and I come on here hoping to find some news and found NOTHING NEW DANG IT !
WHAT IS UP WITH THIS ? Signing date is fast approaching and you would think we would have something solid by now.?
My phone was eerily quite all afternoon an I gotta go tell you that I'm kinda spooked....something big is up or were in trouble on the QB front.
I hope it's because it's Sunday and everybody was busy doing Family things but ya can't count on anything anymore except bad news it seems like.
Oh well this could just be like Kate says "The Calm before the Storm" ....I hope it's a big RED WAVE OF GOOD THINGS.....GOD KNOWS WE COULD USE SOMETHING GOOD TO HAPPEN.
OH in case your wondering, we got after 2 cats a really big over fed Tom that climbed the first Big Spruce he came to. The race didnt last all of about 15 min once they got his track lined out. Kate got lots of good pictures. We found a Cow Elk he was feeding on that had a tracking collar on it and called it in for Game n Fish to come get all the info from her. Sad the old Girl got caught but that's life in the tall woods.
We treed a young Female Bobcat that was so much fun to photograph because of the tree she was in.
And the danged pups got after a group of 4 Doe Mule Deer but thankfully they were wearing their training collars and it gave us a perfect chance to remind them that to chase ANY THING WITH HOOVES OF ANY SHAPE IS A SHOCKING EXPERIENCE....
We had 4 pups and put them on a fresh Bobcat Track they should have been able to handle easily but these Mulie Doe's were in the right place at the right time and bounced out right in front of them and the race was on....needless to say all 4 pups were back at the road wanting in the Dog Box in less than 5 min.
So we had a great day in the fresh snow. The sun came out and the wind laid down and man it was so beautiful with all the snow on everything. Got the old dogs some good exercise and took only pictures and the pups I don't think will forget what they learned .....ever lol.

Also, don't expect Brennan to make any visits. He's a guy that knows what he wants and doing the whole dog and pony show of official visits does not appear to be a priority. He is looking for the best fit and opportunity.
However, on late Sunday night, Auburn's Bo Nix also entered the transfer portal. Could he become a priority if things don't work with Brennan?
Questions still surround these things:
The Plan B at QB if NU misses on Brennan: If Nebraska is not able to land Brennan at quarterback, where will Whipple and Frost turn to?

What are the odds that if we get Brennan, Smothers enters the portal?
What other dominoes will topple if he comes here? What about if he doesn't and we go with Smothers or some other portal QB? I suspect a lot hinges on who our QB is next season. Will we have players wanting to transfer here if LS is the QB vs MB?

Shouldn't be surprising. Everything for the last 4 years was contingent upon AM2. Second verse same as the first.
With Auburn QB Bo Nix in the portal the Tigers could be stiff competition for Brennan if he wants to stay in the SEC. If he wants a complete change of scenery then that would favor us.
