Nope, we used to have the Third Rail, and it always spilled over to the other forums. We learned our lesson. Not gonna happen.
Yay, Charlie!

I think one of the best things about BHF is the genuine sense of camaraderie and community found here. No reason whatsoever to screw it up!!!

We're humans so naturally there's always gonna be a few dust-ups from time to time. But on the whole, I'm struck by how respectful everybody is here and how well folks get along -- and that's saying A HELL OF A LOT considering how lousy our football team has been the past five years!!!!

I've only experienced losing seasons since I started hanging out here. I can only imagine how much fun this place will become when Frost gets the Huskers on a roll next season!!! :)

I like talking Nebraska sports with fellow Nebraskans. Back on topic...MJ was a fun QB to watch run the option. Hope he does well as WR coach.

Do like gaming admins do for theirs...warn 'em once, ban 'em for a week 2nd offense, a month for 3rd.. etc. Until the message is clear.

Hey!, I went by "Old Sparky" when I escorted a prisoner to Ft. Leavenworth. Very "crime" deterrent method. Same here. People WILL abide once they know "they're being watched."

If they don't, then it would be obvious that they're just trying to make it all about them.

And yes, I know that we belonging to this site pays the bills. So I guess we'd have to decide what's more important.. Commraderie, or ego.
We did that. Didn't matter. If you had been part of this site when we had it you wouldn't have believed the stuff that spilled over. It was full time micro managing and none of us admins, mods, owners, really got to enjoy the true discussions with our members because of the policing we had to do of the 3rd Rail. As Charlie said it's never coming back. Less headaches for all involved and more enjoyable too.

We can always talk about the weather. It's 85 degrees here every day. How's it in Lincoln?

As someone who was on this board back when 3rd Rail was a thing, I have no idea what you're talking about, Mike. The 3rd Rail was a utopia where, despite our political difference, we all got along splendidly. Okay, maybe not.

I became a moderator back in about 2000 or 2001 here when we had the 3rd Rail. It was pretty rough and tumble!

Yeah sorry Jen, it was bad. Your memory may have been a little fuzzy at that time. ;) We banned so many people off the board back then it wasn't even funny. Several folks spilled their political diatribes and tropes into other forums and wouldn't cease and desist and were booted. When the platform changed we decided as a collective group to not bring it back. It's been a much better place w/o it. That's how we are going to keep it. :)

Although I was a member of the forum, I don't know that I ever participated in the 3rd Rail. It wouldn't bother me if it was still here or not. I don't care to see many of those types of topics mixed in with every thread that comes up. However, what bothers me even more is when somebody does bring it up, then when someone responds to that comment, the original "offender" tries to shut it down saying it is against forum policy. It's the forum equivalent of a drive by shooting or a hit and run. Happens quite often.
