He's back

On Severe and Benning they also noted that the bar needs to be set higher than simply qualifying for a bowl game next year. That was where the bar was set this year with one of the nation's toughest schedules. With a considerably easier schedule next year they were saying we should be expecting 7 or even 9 wins.

I haven’t checked next year’s schedule. Do we play NW 3 times?

I'd expect 7-9 wins next year as a show of improvement for sure.

If we have another losing season, and especially one where we see the same mistakes as the last 4, I couldn't support another year.

You know if we had won 3 of the 4, our schedule wouldnt look as daunting as it has been.

I don't disagree but to that point we haven't been to a bowl game in 5 years. We need to take what we can get if we qualify for a bowl game next year.

Bottom line here folks we really don't know the mental impact having Jo-Jo and Big Ben missing in action ( and one can't blame them period now) will have on the Blackshirts.....if they truly are BLACKSHIRT worthy we won't notice a difference except we won't hear their names called.
That's number 1#.

Number 2# is how will this group of players perform these last 2 games ?
More people are betting our team will crumble and stumble against Wisconsin and sadly enough more and more lately say the same thing about Iowa.....and that REALLY SUCKS.

This is a golden opportunity for Frost and this team to make a statement and get a great start on next season.... honestly I hope they take full advantage of the dis advantage....and rise above it...but who knows with these guys....anything could happen.

Frost HAS GOT TO MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICE PERIOD.....even though we don't know for sure yet the exact little details of Frosts contract but it's not beyond ones imagination that it's a one year extension and there is stipulations.....but really that's about all.....smaller buy out, smaller salary but incentives to reward and a big chunk for new Assistant Coaches. But that's really all it is, nothing earth shatteringly huge.

There has been no number of wins set or anysuch thing but there are big incentives to win a bunch and be in or win the division Ch. Then more $$$$$ for winning the B10 title and huge incentives for each win in the C.F.P. games so on and so forth....point is like his first contract and most coaches at this level....it's in Frosts best interest to do well and hire the RIGHT FREAKING COACHES.

ITS GONNA BE FUN SEEING HOW IT ALL PLAYS OUT ANYWAY you want it to turn out !

I was worried about the morale of the team heading into OSU and was afraid it was going to be ugly. Clearly the team was not ready to give up and gave OSU all they could handle. Other than the players who may have wanted Frost gone (they may not even be starters or playing at this point) I think this team will continue to fight against Wisconsin and Iowa. Hoping there is enough left in the tank to win at least one and give us some positive vibes going into the offseason.

No doubt we will miss Jo Jo and Ben. But the bigger picture lies in hiring the best coaches for the job. From here he has to interview a lot of guys that will take his call and find out who will travel to Lincoln and talk about a line coach and WR coach, along with the ever needed ST coach/coordinator. Tom Herman and Cale Gundy are high on my list of candidates, lets see how that pans out You guys take care and have a great autumn.

Herman is not going to take an OC job, especially at a school like Nebraska.
ummm ok if you say so. I suspect he may be at USC before its over, but remember he loses his termination pay if he gets another big time job. If he took the DONU job, he would or could be a head coach in waiting. He sure isnt making that kind of dough as an analyst in Chicago. Gundy is making 700K at OU, he might be willing to move.
Secondly you need to take Urban Meyers course on taking a job. Nebraska is prime for a good coach because we have GOOD athletes. Number one thing an incoming coach should be looking for. Remember, this team is one good QB away.

I just don't know what to think about anything at the moment. I do like the restructured contract with a much lowered buyout. Other than that, we just have to lay low and see who Frost hires and what kind of an impact that will make next year.

I can say I want it turn out so that DONU rises from their ashes and becomes a force to be reckoned with, provided Hunchie is pulling our legs about Neon. That would be more than I can deal with.
