I wish no ill will to Dylan Raiola or Scott Frost. Raiola had his big moment in Eugene and doesn't have to look at cornfields anymore. Frost has his big win against #2 BYU.

Some people find success in some places, but not in others. He can't exist in the spotlight. He can hide in Orlando. I remember one person saying this when people were calling for SF to be the Head Coach. I think he was right. People bashed him and said it was personal. In the end, he called it. Someone close to the Frost family told me they knew he wouldn't work in Lincoln. He laid out reasons that led to his demise. SF never really wanted the job; his performance showed that while he was here.

What. confuses me about this whole belief is that he was royally p*ssed that he wasn't considered on an earlier vacancy (forget which go around it was). He was lobbying pretty hard for the job and not real happy that he wasn't even considered, much less interviewed, for the position.

I never heard that. I know there were people who felt he should have been considered when we hired Mike Riley, but I never heard it was him.

I get Frost and his cadre of friends/family want to spin anything they can to make Frost look "good" and Nebraska (the Uni and FB team) look bad. But.....given what we know - he wanted this job but he was ill prepared for it and didn't fully understand how deep the water is in the B1G until he actually saw what live games looked like. At that point - he tried to make changes but often the changes were too little or too late and taking up full time boozing didn't help his cause. He wanted to keep his friends around him and not make some of the tough decisions a head coach needs to make. There was no one thing that resulted in Frost's failure in Lincoln - it was more like death by a thousand cuts - just too many things not done well that added up to mediocre (and sometimes even worse) football.

It was all just too much at that point for any ship to be righted. Still p*sses me off as I really, really wanted Frost to be a combination of th BobFather and St Tom. Silly me, anyway!

Yeah, I'm not sure he realizes/realized just how much Husker Nation wanted him to succeed. My guess he had 99.9% of the fanbase behind him and really wanting him to stay long term. All you have to do is go back and read all of those thread before Frost completely imploded. Everyone was cheering for Frost. His last season, not so much as too much had come out by then. But listen to the UCF idiots and we're just telling lies for the last 5 years to discredit their hero. Whatever.
