EDIT: Martinez' Knee

Screw the Big 8. This was the kind of sh*t you could expect from CU and Mizzou.
Agreed. The misearable pr!cks from the old Big 8 sure didn't do us any favors in the the Big12, and refused to stand with us to keep some of the structure in the North. They put the screws to us whenever they could, handing more and more control to Texas. So, they can all take a flying leap.....And, if the potheads next door just want to take cheap shots at our best players, then to hell with them, I don't ever want to play them again......deny them their hate-fest game with Nebraska, that seems to justify their entire existence, and let it fade into distant memory. They will be forced to find someone new to hate and make asinine "better dead than red" comments about....

Thank Goodness, you won't see THAT kind of weasel crap in a B1G conference game.

I don't know what the penalty for that sort of thing is, but it should be awfully damn severe. Funny how phantom targeting can draw a flag but a linebacker can twist away at our QB's knee and that's okay. Number 44 basically won the game for CU on that play by taking out our star QB.

I still recall Mizzou deliberately going after our RB's knee on a FG attempt back in the day and a few years ago Texas A&M grabbing one of our players by the balls during a pile-up. In both cases, the officials did diddily-squat.

Mizzou was the worst at cheap injury attempts over the years.

I knew somebody that drug a stuffed tiger chained to their pick up truck through Columbia (with Nebraska plates) and he was told to leave town and never come back......

He should not play if we expect to win against MU. That knee should heal up completely. I noticed he was limping before that hit too. I hope he will be durable in the B1G

A buddy and I were driving home from a Nebraska win in Columbia and drove past a Dairy Queen with a bunch of Husker fans there. My friend honked his "There is no place like Nebraska" horn (they were popular back then) and we waved as we passed.

A block later a Missouri cop pulled us over and gave my buddy a ticket for "disturbing the peace." I kid you not.

That was against Jarvis Redwine on an extra point attempt. The next year or two after they cheap shotted Turner Gill out of the game.

Ok everyone look one advantage to Kate and I having a box is the TV feed.....all my former teammates that compose our usual bunch was there.....we all saw what happened plain as the nose on your face.....and yes we did see to it that well placed words were delivered to the right ears before we all left for home. If you check my post yesterday about the linebacker looking to me like he was trying to make a wish bone out of A Mart while another big fat stupid buff player laid on his upper body seemed intentionally done....I hope not on orders but out of shear stupidity on the players part.....but I wouldn't put it past anyone who represents CU to try crap like this. You would be totally shocked if you knew what went on in the pile when we played alot of our old big 8 and big 12 conference teams back in the day. Missouri, Colorado and Kansas St. We're the top three from the old Big 8.... In no particular order either......from the Big 12 it was Texas, Texas tech, and A &M...... Tied for worst from the Big 12..... It was like they resented our Success and would do anything to try and gain an edge as long as they didn't get caught.....

Now look I know it's a big boys game and "STUFF" happens in the heat of battle between the sidelines but when you purposely try and not only hurt a kid but do damage that could cost him his whole football career.......that's low period....I don't mind telling you that had several of our wives been in the suite with us several of my teammates and I would have gotten into really bad trouble.....and we are not even Offensive guys....in our day if one of our QB's had that happen the O line would have been told quickly to not let that stuff go un-punished and we might of drawn a holding call over here while the tackle and guard from that side of the field would have dummy trapped that #44 and give him a good old fashioned education really quick while all eyes were drawn to the other side of the field......go back and look at our old game films.....alot of times when one of our linemen got tangled up with a defender and the refs all ran to help out.....don't let your eyes follow the action......watch the back side and you might catch a glimpse of Husker Justice......if not.....that just means the linemen did it real good .....it's the old shell game......watch what this hand is doing while the other hand picks you clean.....I know I will catch crap for telling this but we need to establish the "DO NOT SCREW WITH US OR YOU WILL GET SCREWED UP THEN DOWN"....that's the only thing missing still that we need back....and fast.....with one Scholarship QB the line had danged well better get off their nice guy attitudes and show some nasty.....or we're going to be seeing alot of Bunchie this fall......

Oh and just in case your wondering......most of you know somebody you trust you can ask to see if what I am saying is true......and while I might be a lot of things to lots of people.......a liar is not among them.

I remember qb facemasks,I remember a star lbs arm getting destroyed..
They eventually got rid of goons in hockey even.
Cats were marrying dogs, thats why Bos cat left him.
The whole worlds upside down I tell ya

Val old Buddy,
I agree he needs rest but he also needs to play to fix his freshman mistakes before the Meechicken game.....they do have a NFL caliber D front that if playing right can stuff the run.....if motivated ......and if they are on their game.
That being said old buddy he had some early 2 ND 1/2 calf cramps that was causing him to limp.....a quick IV would have fixed that if done at half time....young guys get so excited they forget to hydrate and stay balanced throughout the game and the 1/2 is when they used to try and monitor that stuff even more so if it was really hot or humid....and while it wasn't bad hot it was humid so that is just as bad.

Hope to catch up with you if you make it back this season for a home game be sure and holler bud.

Doc n Kate.

I get your humor but dude this is serious stuff......our O line had better wake up and protect Their Guy.....no matter who he is.....you let stuff like this go and Perdy soon everybody and their momma is trying to put you in a stranglehold.....I know it's easy to make fun of but let me put it to you like this..............I have no idea who you are but let's just say for arguement sake your Son was the kid getting his leg twisted and it was CLEARLY ON PURPOSE LIKE THIS WAS.......you get called out of the stands by ushers.....at the hospital the best orthopedic Dr's in the country ( honestly we have the top guys taking care of our Athletes )....look at you and your wife and says.....your son will be lucky to walk without a limp the rest of his life let alone play football or sports period because of the damage done to his knee.....and the kid was playing High School Ball just last fall......and is all of 18-19 yrs old......!

Now you tell me what the hell is so damned funny about that !!!!!!

See my point ? I hope so .....your kinda new here and this is a subject that is a real sore spot for me personally so don't misunderstand me.....I am not pissed at you or trying to offend you or start a keyboard pissing match.....but stop and put yourself in that kid and his family's shoes for a second......is all I am asking of you and anyone else who tries to interject humor into what could have very easily been a career ending deal or worse.

To :everyone who reads this post.....sorry for getting in me cup over the harmless post made about this but if you ask around any number of old timers on this Board will tell you what the deal is.....It just really irks me when any silly stuff comes about because someone who's dream could have just as easily been crushed.....by a stupid childish jackarse from Colorado's football team decides he is gonna" fix that guy" ......

I do apologize if I stepped out of line. I just am not wired to NOT protect or stick up for anyone brave enough or that cares enough to strap on that Helmet with the simple block red "N" on it .....my pitbull mentality got me in trouble when I played and without my dear Kate by my side would have gotten me into more trouble later in life......but you know what they say.....you can take the Jersey off the player......but you can't take the Blackshirt from his soul.

To quote a movie, 'they pull a knife, you pull a gun. They put one of yours in the hospital, you send one theirs to the morgue." Doc, I agree with everything that may have been done. It's called protecting the ones you love.

Oh I fully agree.
Its more of, if you dont, like you said, have that dont 'mess' with us attitude, or else, its only to be expected.
While Im not shocked this happened, this particular thing just cant stand, and no one should ever be offended, they should only be pissed.
My comment was more on the irony of todays pollyanna world in which we live.
One thing Doc, I'll be watching off center now on those replays during some of our more obvious penalties, then
I'll feel a little better myself when watching some of those games.
Good to know Doc,and GBR!!

PS As for me, no apology needed, we see eye to eye here, just my poor way of showing ironic sarcasm.
