Wasnt it Ben Cotton that went after a guy in the TAMU game? He said the guy was going after his junk

The replay showed the AM guy going between Cotton's legs like a miner seeing a gold nugget and going for it.
Yet, with the A&M incident, and this one with Martinez, absolutely nothing is done about it. They won't even acknowledge any wrongdoing. Yet they wonder why it continues......miserable pr!cks.....That was a play that I'll never unsee. One of the most disgusting examples of unsportsmanlike conduct you will ever witness.
Chris,
I don't disagree that the cause of the injury was not intentional. Does that dismiss the intent to injure? I don't believe so.
With all the progress they've made avoiding head injuries, you'd think they'd try to clean up this stuff, too.
I know that there usually isn't enough video evidence. But in cases where you do have the video, I think suspensions are in order. The Cotton and Martinez cases appear fairly obvious to me, but the football powers choose to send the message that this garbage is something you can get away with, so go ahead and do it.
Seems to me that if they can flag Kenny Bell on a clean block for unnecessary roughness, they should be flagging this kind of thing as well.

I think we should move on. Frost doesn't want this to be a distraction to the team. Let the offense deal with it next year.![]()
You're right--and since Kenny Bell's hit was referenced, this was the payback to Taylor Martinez about 5 minutes later--you always protect your teammates (couldn't find video)Believe it, they won't forget. The Buffs better realize that payback is coming.

Just my take, but "soft" doesn't have anything to do with it. A little shoving and some extra hits here or there is no big deal. But this targeting of players who are exposed, and can't respond is BS. My good buddy had his entire senior season ruined by dirty, intentional wrenching of his ankle at the bottom of the pile, by a Norfolk High School defender on Homecoming back in the fall of 1982 (Clete Blakeman's senior year). You could hear him screaming all the way to the sideline, as he was unable to move or defend himself while the pr!ck went to work on his ankle. His entire season was shot after that. As an I back, he was never the same again. So, if you want to participate in MMA, that's fine, go do that. But intentional injury of a player is a bunch of BS in the sport of football....I get a little bored with the no call conversations honestly- sometimes runs contrary to the criticism of the game getting soft, too many rules and rub a little dirt on it.
Not advocating for 100% let them play... but...
