Colorado Reaction

I guess we're no better than them then if we can't rise above the pettiness that makes for bad fans.
We have bad fans but nowhere as bad as them. Back when I went to UNL I had friends travel to the game at CU in 1989. They had luss, vomit, Baby Poop, etc. Thrown and dumped on them at that game. They also slash and cars tired that have Nebraska plates. Including some friends of mine that lived in Nebraska but are CU fans. I have never heard or seen NU fans act that poorly. Hurling insults? Yes. But never physical, etc.

This was an important win but with each passing hour I vacillate between wondering if the victory was because NU is really good or if CU is kind of lousy.

We are definitely not good enough to sleepwalk against Northern Iowa and certainly not against Illinois. Hopefully the team will continue to get better and better weekly, but, barring a letdown, the next big measuring stick will be Rutgers.

Just don’t turn the ball over, clean up the specials, and let that defense do its business.

GBR.

CU is bad. But Nebraska has lost to a lot of bad teams dating back to that time Joe Dailey stepped out of bounds on 4th down well short of the marker against Southern Mississippi.

On the plus side, Matt Rhule was already saying the performance wasn't good enough on the whole immediately after the game, so the team is well aware.

Rhule knows what needs to be done. No sprinkles in the locker room and I doubt he's using that golf team app either.

My favorite play was when Dr. Death (My just-now nickname for him) Dante Dowdell, after getting deep into the secondary, chooses to just truck Shilo instead of veering off and using a straight arm. Just trucked him. Running and sending a message. DBs will be shaking in their shoes when they see him coming. Makes the stiff arm even more effective when they want to minimize contact.:evilgrin0007:

Yeah, DD should have straight-armed him for an easy TD.

But somewhere up in Husker Heaven, Devaney’s old RB Coach, Mike Corgan, was grinning from ear-to-ear. He loved seeing his RBs steamroll defenders.

Personally I would have zero desire to stand in front of the 225lb Dante coming at me with a full head of steam. Hurts me just thinking about it, but then again that may just be the hernia surgery I had yesterday. LOL

I have watched him in the past videos. He tells it the way it is and he is excited for Nebraska. Also stating that a little optimism goes along way (pointing at recruiting).

Yeah, that place is pretty much a Humbster Fire of idiocy, trash and crime. I would not shed a tear if Rocket Man were to launch one into Philly.
While I understand the sentiment - I have a cousin that lives in the burbs of Philly so make it a small tactical nuke please.

I have been trying to find that play and the next was absolutely brilliant

Illinois Defense is for real man. They beat a very good Kansas team last week. They all are important.
Both Illinois and Rutgers will be challenges. Let's hope Husker fans can create the kind of home field advantage they did against Colorado. On Monday, Coach Rhule said the fans provide his team with "a deadly weapon."
