Three of these 6 names have been reached out to by Nebraska in some way, at some point in time recenty, per a source. Says AD is clamped down tight as we all expected. Wasn't able to say for sure which 3 and isn't sure at what state the process is in. Under normal circumstances, in the past, the unknowns would have been known by this guy!

Calhoun, Chryst, Briles, Frost, Patterson, Bohl

I don't think it is Calhoun, the NCAA just opened up a big investigation on them. Chryst, yikes, that isn't a splash hire. Frost I can see along with Briles and Patterson. Bohl, I don't know about that either.

I hope it was Patterson, briles and frost. The other three are NO THANKS to me. I guess this means SE didn't have his man after all?

I think you give Patterson and Briles a call. But I don't see either of them leaving the luxurious recruiting hotbed of Texas to bolt to Lincoln, Nebraska. If SE can get either, I will bow in reverence to SE every morning when I rise and shine!

Holy cow, Im getting Coach Hire Stress Disorder... SE has his man, wait, did he ever have a man? Tressel, Tressel & Frost, now just Frost; Bohl (please, no)-- the names come and go. Must be high adventure for the folks here working with sources and screening information for the rest of us consumers. Im grateful for it guys.

One name I heard mentioned today and I think I could handle the guy coming here.....Mark Richt. Born in Omaha so has ties, big name winning coach, seems to do things the "right way" has good recruiting ties throughout SEC territory.

Has Georgia won the sec since he has been there? I am asking because I do not know. If he has, then yes I think he could be a great hire. If not, then we would probably be getting Bo.v2

2005 I believe. But they are always ranked high during preseason and always competitive and always talked about in the MNC race. Isnt that what Bo has been missing???

If those six are the only ones in contention (and I know the OP doesn't say that definitively), I am very concerned.
- Calhoun has done okay at Air Force, but nothing spectacular. 58-44.
- Chryst? You have to be kidding me. 19-19 at Pitt. Maybe Stevie P. is hoping to unload him and stick it to us once again.
- Briles? Would be a decent hire but he is 58 years old and already making $4.2M per year with a 10 year contract.
- Frost? I won't throw a fit if he is the hire, but I really want us to go with an experienced head coach this time.
- Patterson? They are having a good year this year, but his overall conference record in the Big XII is 13-13. Currently making $3.5M.
- Bohl? I really don't want to see Mr. Magoo on our sideline again.:culpability:

That's pretty much how Georgia fans feel about him: consistently good, but never great. Take him out of SEC recruiting territory, and yeah, I'll pass, thanks.

I think we should hire Gary Barnett to clean up the mess he made with our program with that ass-whipping in Boulder. That was the beginning of the dark times. He OWES us.
