B1G about to have a "surprise" expansion.

It's being reported all over the place. Seems like an odd marriage, but the Big 10 took Rutgers so anything is possible.

Could be some fun road trips. Anyone familiar with their venues in person?
I attended Nebraska's road game against USC in the LA Coliseum back when Cally was still our coach. Given all the iconic arial shots we've all seen of the Coliseum over the years, I was surprised when I saw the place up-close and personal. It's a dump. I've seen better looking and more modern high school stadiums. And to top it off, it's smack-dab in the middle of a bad part of the city. That would be a new 'conference' road game that I'd happily bypass to watch on TV.

Back in the late 80s I saw Nebraska lose to Troy Aikman's UCLA Bruins at the Rose Bowl. That stadium is terrible for viewing. We were in the nosebleed seats and it felt like we were a quarter mile from the field. I know it's an iconic venue but it is turble for the fans in person.

The B1G would be the first true Power Five coast-to-coast league with this move.

I'm not sure it matches Whorns/OU to the SEC, but it's probably the next best move.

Notre Dame and USC might be a slightly better upgrade, but ND has turned down multiple offers to join the B1G. UCLA always has some exceptional athletes, even in their down years.

Everything now is about money. Traditional matchups against your neighbors are out because they don't fit the new narrative. Goodbye Nebraska-Kansas. Hello Nebraska-USC.

There will be potentially annual road trips between SoCal and Penn State, Rutgers, and Maryland. That’s a lot of miles. Wonder if that will be incentive to keep East and West divisions. Guessing the Huskers would rather play in Pasadena in November than New Jersey.
