Guess where Longmire was filmed? Two hints...
Starts with "New"
Ends with "Mexico"

I thought is was cool Starbuck was able to find a job as a cop after Battlestar Galactica ended. If the Cylons showed up you know Sheriff Longmire would have run them over with his Bronco.

There is a lot of misinformation out there. All the mask Nazis need to read this article.

COMMENTARY: Masks-for-all for COVID-19 not based on sound data

"A cloth mask or face covering does very little to prevent the emission or inhalation of small particles. As discussed in an earlier CIDRAP commentary and more recently by Morawska and Milton (2020) in an open letter to WHO signed by 239 scientists, inhalation of small infectious particles is not only biologically plausible, but the epidemiology supports it as an important mode of transmission for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19."

I did read it!

"We are very concerned about messaging that suggests cloth masks or face coverings can replace physical distancing."

This is the point of the article. Cloth masks do not replace distancing and isolation.
The article also says:
"Despite the current limited scientific data detailing their effectiveness, we support the wearing of face coverings by the public when mandated and when in close contact with people whose infection status they don't know."

Lastly:
"The pandemic is not over and will not likely be over for some time. As states and local jurisdictions reopen, we encourage people to continue to assess and limit their risks. Cloth masks and face coverings likely do not offer the same degree of protection as physical distancing, isolation, or limiting personal contact time."

In other words: We shouldn’t be going out in public with people. And if you must, put a mask on when told.

Saw alot of pics of high school football being played in Nebraska last night. Not packed stands but still alot of people there - nobody wearing masks in any pictures I saw (and I am not talking about players - I realize that is not practical).
We'll see how it shakes out.

Iowa's positivity rate this week would indicate back to school has major issues.

Major issues with filling up the hospitals, or major issues based on tracking positive case numbers in young people who aren't getting very sick at all from it? If the expectation is to bring people back to school and college, and not see a rise in cases, then that is a failed framework from the beginning. To me, the goal posts keep moving concerning what constitutes a crisis.....
I was at Palmyra's football game last night, and volleyball games Thursday, and there was a high percentage of mask usage, and we don't have any cases at all in the district. So, I guess the observable data may vary depending on your sample selection.....

Should primarily be to manage hospitalizations - but if it is wide spread in young people it will get into at risk populations eventually so infection rates overall matter. Maybe the pics I saw were a limited example - I posted it to see what others saw.

I heard from a few friends who have kids playing football in the small towns around Lincoln, and mask usage did vary according to what they saw. Some games had high usage, some had almost none......
And, when I was in Florida 3 weeks ago, the district around Tampa had a mask mandate, but I would say there was maybe 50% compliance in the stores I went into. And, the employees I saw didn't say a word to anyone coming into shop without one...... :Iono3:

Never identified with someone so much when they got excited about next weeks show, gonna blow up Bonnie Franklin. She was gonna blow up real good.
The Helen Reddy blow up is legend - it shall not be forgotten.

Helen Reddy? Now she'd blow up real good. That would rival 3D House of the Cats for top notch entertainment.

Apparently the original skit included lengthy music performances from each of the SCTV cast members (or ensembles) before being blown up - EXCEPT for Helen Reddy - who was blown up before even beginning to sing as shown in this clip. That full length skit is not available anywhere - although I would not be surprised if there is a recording or video version hidden away somewhere that shows up eventually. The performances are supposed to be very good if hamed up.....but WHAT a cast! SCTV is the source of my avatar - another Candy skit where he played a boxer. The first time I saw it I actually pissed my pants from laughing........great show.
