16 Players Hit the Portal in 48 Hours -- Crazy

We went to White Sands NP and Cruces over the weekend. Ever where we went, I was asking "Hey, do you know Husker 99? No luck.

Si Senor for lunch never disappoints. Food is a solid 8, but the atmosphere, chips and salsa, and the cinnamon sugar sopapillas makes it a must stop whenever we head south.

I just have one question: Red or Green?

As for asking around, did you go into any bathroom and ask a toilet about me? My sh^^ is city wide famous.

:evilgrin0007:

Si Senor is good. I love the four different varieties of salsa and dip they provide for your chips.

However, next time you're in the Cruces metro area, give any one of the following a shot:

* Chachis in Dona Ana - Brisket tacos
* Andeles in Mesilla - Anything on the menu
* Pajar Mexican Kitchen in Cruces - Quesabirra tacos

With my work and travel schedule, it's been quite awhille since I have been to any of these places, but when I was there, they were outstanding.

Next time we are down south I will definitely give them a try. Thanks for the suggestion. Kent Pavelka has now provided me with the perfect response to just about any situation, and I know everbody here is going to get sick of it, but I don't care. Starting with this. I'm marching into Chachis in Don Ana and announcing to the entire dining room and kitchen "MAKE ROOM FOR DADDY!"

it's NIL times like these that I wish Warren Buffet was a Nebraska Athletic Department support maniac.

But...at least we'll develop new ways to eat grass and the like. :-)

At the time the Foundation and the UNL Athletic Department were aggressively corting Warren for a big money donation, UNL's student affairs -- in its infinite wisdom -- signed an exclusive, long-term soda contract with Pepsi instead of Buffet's Coke.

A classic example of organizational mismanagement!

Well Warren Buffet has never given a damn about Nebraska football, so why would the University want to sign a deal with him? It's not like he's a booster or in this new NIL era is out there saying whatever Nebraska needs financially he'll provide it.

Per ATX's post, #37, good to hear that Tarver and Prude withdrew their names from the Portal. They most likely learned a valuable lesson: For positions other than QB, you need to be a proven player. No team is going to want to pay big dollars for an unproven freshman.
I can actually understand some of these guys trying the portal. They see players getting 6 and 7 figure money and say, I have nothing to lose might as well see if I have value.

I don't think those guys were thinking portal for the NIL. They may be looking for playing time. Big money in the NIL is for less than 10 % of the players. The vast majority of portal players don't get NIL. They find whatever level of college football gets them the opportunity to play. I get it. You may want to be part of the Huskers, but four years of grinding it out on the bench can make the thought of playing regularly at a Group of 5 look pretty appealing.
