    Value of Scholarships At NU

As a matter of fact, my first car had a hand crank for emergency starting.....and then there was the old International Farmall tractor. :conf:

    Value of Scholarships At NU

    To add a little perspective to that $2100...A hamburger was $ .25, beer- $ .10 a bottle, movie- $.50, gas about $.25/gal, a full meal about $1.75.

    Value of Scholarships At NU

I spent in the neighborhood of $2100 in the "55-'56 school year. That included everything from tuition to beer.

    CU vs NU

Watched a U-tube simulation of the game yesterday. NU won 31-24, after giving up a 17-3 lead at halftime. I think NU will score at least 42 points, and the Buffoons could score more than 24.

    All time favorite Husker I-Backs

Oh, the ignorance of youth. You are all too young (well, maybe not Mo) to remember my personal favorite, Bobby Reynolds. He set an NCAA scoring record and made AA his sophomore year. Other than that, I liked watching Ahman Green, Roy Helu, and Rex Burkhead. Although he played fullback...

Who are your all-time top five Nebraska quarterbacks?

I most wholeheartedly agree with this last statement. Osborne said in one of his books that he should have started Gdowski sooner. I believe that Gdowski was the first 1000passer/1000rusher for NU, not Frost. .

    Steele's pick for the west

Most of you all sound like whiney little fifth-grade girls. You don't know what bad Cornhusker football is. The worst season most of you ever experienced was 4 wins. The first 15 years that I experienced included only 3 winning seasons and the best only 6 wins. I know, I'm a dinosaur. I...

    Ranking the Up-N-Coming CFB Coaches

Lets see, MSU plays Alabama, Auburn, LSU, and TAM every year, plus a UGA, Tenn, or UF. Tough to win more than 4 games with that schedule.

    CFB's Most Loyal Fan Bases

At least a couple of us are over the 8-OH mark....right, GaPnt? I remember when a sellout at Memorial Stadium was less than 35,000.

OT - Hope all of you in Mid-Missouri are okay

Not me, Chris...but then, we have hurricanes here on the Gulf Coast.

What's the best road stadium/game day experience you've ever had?

I've only been to two road games....1976 at LSU (6-6 tie, NU was #1 going into the game.) and at Southern Miss (fans were so friendly it was like being in Lincoln.) Both were great experiences.

Husker non-conference opponents in the future

That would be my worst nightmare....also, my two favorite teams.

    Depth Chart Predictions on O

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm going to get a little picky here, but I disagree with your inclusion of Mick Tinglehof. He played in the NFL at about 240 lbs. I know it was over 50 years ago, but...

    TO: Pure Class

Two days after the 1995 Miami game my son was flying from Atlanta to a job site in Memphis. While waiting for takeoff, he saw a tall, distinguished red haired man walking down the aisle. Although my son is a Florida grad, he has been to games at Memorial Stadium and knows who Tom Osborne is...

    Zack Duval’s message to Frost

This is true...I like to think of myself as a T-Rex. :clink:

    YAHOO....so true!!!

What were the best teams Nebraska faced at home and away?

Away would be '71 OU hands down...probably an all time top 5 team. Bowl game - Miami 2001 Home game - 1955 OU, NC and lots of All American players.

    What weather in Lincoln?

Yes, that was me in Pensacola last Thursday...two golf gloves and all. Temp was actually about 50 and windy when we teed off.

Adrian Martinez Named to FWAA Freshman All-America Team

Sorry, but I just can"t buy this premise. Winning a NC is a team effort. Frazier was on the bench for several of the games in '94.

    Luke McCaffery.....comes from good stock

I remember Dave Sime, often wondered what happened to him.. I believe he went to college at Duke, and it sticks in my mind that he tried out at wide receiver. I guess that is where the McCafferys get their speed.
