NIL.

I keep waiting for someone else to ask the possibly sexist question, what do the uniforms look like?
So, I'm not gonna ask it either.

I think if they want to start up another girl's sport it should be Lacrosse or Hockey. Both have multiple teams in the Big. Hockey might not be realistic because of the expense involved. but Lacrosse is a major sport in the Big.

IMO, flag football will have about the same following as the soccer team enjoys.

Hopefully like this... (From the Lingerie Football League)

I don't know if any of you guys have ever watched any games from the Lingerie Football League, but don't let the name fool you, these ladies get after it.

I was thinking actual arena football not the lingerie league. You know the boys would take over women's sports if you went too far.

Eer, about the NIL...
We like to get excited about our incoming recruits, but it doesn't mean a thing if as soon as they show promise, they enter the portal and are gone. I hope we are locking up our top recruits with long term NIL deals that are structured that the breaking of the contract is almost always not worth it. Including game time accrual as an adjustment to NIL would allow for an increase in money given. Paying a recruit $100,000 for his redshirt year only to have him leave when he's ready to play seems like a waste of money. Either lock them into long term deals, or just put the money on portal guys who will be an asset the time they are here getting NIL.

I wish. NIL deals can only legally bind their obligations around name, image and likeness, like not doing the commercials or not making appearances that were in your contract. They’re not employment contracts with job performance requirements. With the change last year, to direct payments for some, I hope what you say can come true.

I'm thinking putting in the contract an exclusivity clause with penalties for breaking it. I suspect any contract with Adidas says exclusive-no Nike. ...and Nike does the same. NIL contracts saying only while a student at UNL with a penalty for leaving before 3 years would slow down the renegotiating every year. We're already seeing some of this where Washington said their QB couldn't leave without an onerous penalty. He's back at Washington.

When a Pro team signs a contract there is nothing about NIL or advertising using the player NIL as far as I know. This is true, yes? So why do we have to pay NIL to a player in college? Just give him a spot and a paycheck and let the player negotiate his own deals with his agent or lawyer for using his NIL
Plus, agents in college should have to be a lawyer just like the Pros and be limited to a certain percentage of what they agree to as far as contract money.

What NIL was meant to be and what NIL has evolved into are two totally different things. NIL was supposed to ensure athletes got compensation when their name, likeness, or image were used for revenue producing purposes. It has evolved into a recruiting tool.

Capitalism is the astounding belief that the most wickedest of men will do the most wickedest of things for the greatest good of everyone. - John Maynard Keynes

I use this quote because it is relevant here. NIL has devolved into this runaway train of corruption and greed because the most corrupt, greediest, and most unethical, dastardly people have taken it there. NIL, as it now is, isn't an unfortunate outcome, it's the logical conclusion of a run-amuck system where, as Keynes says, the worst people will do the worst things for their own profit regardless of how much it ruins everything else.
