Bowl Game?

Whatever decision is made should have already been made and declared before an hour before bowl invitations start going out. I'm hoping that at least behind the scenes the decision has already been sent to the bowl administrators.
Its going to be another public lashing if Nebraska is picked to go against Army or Navy and then says, no, we don't want to go. Oh, Nebraska wanted to play all year and now doesn't want to go against a service academy.

If, and that's a big if, if the Huskers play in a bowl game they need to get three weeks off afterwards. Covid has been such an shitbag that these guys deserve a break.

We're all suffering, but very few of us are suffering in the public eye. Give these kids, and the coaches a break.

Don't be surprised that if they do go, some players opt out.

I can understand it from a player's point of view. It would have been nothing like a normal bowl experience.

One thing I haven't come across in this Bowl talk...what if, had it happened, that we lose some key players to major injury, forcing them to miss all of 2021, Wandale for example?, nah, it's a good thing they turned it down.

Let 'em get mentally and physically healthier, ready to come back with a fervent effort to redeem themselves...finally...let's hope.

Their performance on the field did not merit a bowl game, honestly. And as others have said, without the full 15 practices, this is not that big of a deal.

Even so, they deserve a break.

Yes it's TRUE, we got a early morning call and were told that the team had a meeting last night and voted NOT to accept a bid.
The long grind of not seeing family or being home (some like Martinez and Wandale had not been home since the spring )
for the length of time they have been was just too much for the majority of the team to deal with and I totally get it and cant blame them one bit.
We were offered as many as 5 different Bowl Games as the Bowls struggle to fill the vacant spots.
We were not told nor did we ask what Bowls had extended Invitations as it's a moot point now.

I am good with the decision and totally understand their reasoning.
Like I said before I think it's best to end this fecal show of a season on a winning note and get some rest and time away then refocus on what will hopefully be a normal year.

Kate and I are going to do that very thing. As alot of you know this time of year is when we get our time off and were going to just plain chill and enjoy being married. Were gonna get some well deserved rest and relaxation.

Same to you guys...….and everyone else here. Also a thanks for all the input from everyone. It doesn't make me any smarter...…….but it sure makes me sound like it.

OK Mr Hoiberg, we need a pick-me-up if I'm going to make it to baseball, and spring ball. Coach Cook can't carry the load all by himself.
