Welcome to the Husker Football Forum!

This is the only Husker forum I've ever been on. Not sure for how long, but a lone time. Unfortunately for me, I've been at this for longer than I care to remember. I was only a few years old for the 71 Oklahoma game, but I remember all of the 80s, and enjoyed the hell out of the 90s. Since then, not so much.

This is the third forum I've been on and it's by far the best one. Doc Fumble rescued me from the last one a few years ago and I am forever in his gratitude. My memories go back to the late 1950s but my amnesia has wiped out most of those horrible memories. I wish I could forget the Riley and Frost years.

Fairbury was the town my late father listed as his birthplace, but he actually was born on a farm outside of town a century ago. For those who haven't visited, the downtown is built in a square around the county courthouse. Other than that courthouse, the biggest building is the bank, which features three flags in front: the American, State of Nebraska, and Red N.

There aren't many states where a bank could get away with that. Just 10 miles to the south, in Kansas, you couldn't have just one college flag without offending large numbers of customers.

There is no place like Nebraska!

There's always been a lot of talk about Nebraska having the best CFB fans in the nation (because of the way we've historically travelled and our sell-out streak.) But the team's recent history has led most online Husker communities like this one to be frequented only by The Most Diehard (i.e. masochistic) fans.

My crystal ball says the program is going to witness a frickin' tsunami-style WAVE of fan interest this season. As you talk to new and 'Born-again' Husker fans this fall, encourage them to check out BHF and help grow our community. This is the beginning of a new era of Husker football--and Husker football fandom.

GO BIG RED!

Rather being a masochist - I consider myself a junkie - a Nebraska football junkie. Despite the terrible performances the last few seasons - I keep watching and coming back for more. Something is wrong with me - I just can't stop myself.....lol. I guess I always have that voice in my head that somehow the Huskers will turn things around. It is a little louder ahead of this season. GBR!

That's a much better way to put it.
I'm no masochist- I'm just patient...it's gonna be worth it.
You are absolutely right, PD! We've been waiting for this Sleeping Giant to wake up for a long time now.

I don't know. I saw this forum only had 99 rotten tomatoes. I was kinda looking for one with 100. :)

...looking forward to posting factual, legally defensible comments from time to time.

Yeah, there's a story behind darth's quote. ^^^^^

And no, don't ask.

FYI, darthhusker meant to Nebraska's Scout football forum back-in-the-day what Solly meant to BHF. If there'd been a Mount Rushmore of Scout posters, you can bet darth's twin peaks would've been poking out of it.

Sorry to embarrass you, darth. I've always been a groupie. :)
Good to see you back---it's gonna be a fun season!
