Welcome to the Husker Football Forum!

A lot of us wandered in just as the Frost rumors heated up. It was an interesting and exhilerating time with our enthusiasm misplaced. But, that's what makes us Husker fans.[/QUOTE

Uenth, is the Liederkranz still open? I ask because I used to be a member

Yes, it is. I haven't been in there since senior proms ('74-mine & '75-boyfriend). Drive by there a couple of times a week and it looks exactly the same as it did when I was a kid.

Sometimes it’s a small world. Dr. Kaye Carstens was our pediatrician for our first daughter back in the late 1970’s when he had a practice in Fairbury.

He was the pediatrician for my niece and nephew as well. I believe Kaye was in practice there for 20+ years. My Mom knew him and Connie very well.

I've literally been on this board for like 25 years, maybe more. My original screen name was Husker 94. I've been here so long I can't even remember when I first joined--I think it was in the early 1990's when I first joined this board. I dunno, when was BHF established? Point is, I believe I'm one of a very few people who've been here since practically the beginning of the site. I used to frequently write articles for this board where I broke down the upcoming game and whatever else was relevant to Nebraska football. I was doing that a decade or so before Solly (RIP).

However, to the point of this thread, yes, welcome all. Whether it is your first post today or you're an ancient cryptid like me, you'll find BHF has some of the most thought provoking discussion around. So post away!

Before the season kicks off, it would be really interesting for a lot of us relatively new folks to hear the history of BHF from Charlie or one of our long-time mods.

It's got to be a pretty remarkable story.

This is the only Husker forum I've ever been on. Not sure for how long, but a lone time. Unfortunately for me, I've been at this for longer than I care to remember. I was only a few years old for the 71 Oklahoma game, but I remember all of the 80s, and enjoyed the hell out of the 90s. Since then, not so much.
