Trouble at Maryland

Yeah he’s gone...and with a death on his watch He may not even get a job as an assistant coach.

I paid close attention to this story...This is very similar to what we do in military training and as a medic you have to tune everyone out and pay attention to the trainees...and step in and tell everyone to back off STFU and go away I got this...assess the medical situation and make the calls. Does that not exist on a football team at a University with a medical school and medical staff? I didn’t graduate from a big University so I really am baffled by the incompetence of the entire situation. How do you let a 19 y/o die of heatstroke working out for an eff’n football game? Sorry...I know some of you played football at a high level and I get the passion and intensity but I really feel for this kids parents.

Yes and you gotta wonder - that was Wednesday and not a peep. Wonder what's taking so long?

What a mess. The regents decide to not fire Durkin because they found that the university more broadly was also at fault.

Three players walked out of the announcement meeting with the coach.

The Terps are getting condemned nationally.

The regents will eventually come to realize that getting rid of him made more sense when they realize they cannot recruit.
