I suspect you might be right. I’m on the fence as to wether that’s a good thing.
Leonard would be my number one. Robinson my number two. But there are several good options
I did post an update on another thread that currently Ryan Walter's and Jim Leohnard are being looked at hard to take over. It appears Butler is no longer in the running. We'll see what happens.
Keep an eye on this name for DL (we will have to give him a pass for being a Longhorn)
Toledo hiring former NFL assistant Frank Okam as DL coach
The University of Toledo is hiring Frank Okam as defensive line coach, a source told The Blade.
An official announcement should be made in the coming days.
Okam, a former University of Texas standout on the Longhorns’ 2005 national championship team, was most recently the Las Vegas Raiders defensive line coach. He previously coached at Rice, Baylor, and the Carolina Panthers.
Okam was with head coach Matt Rhule at Baylor and Carolina. He replaces Larry Knight, who left after a few months to take the defensive line coaching job at Temple.
Okam played parts of six seasons in the NFL with the Houston Texans, Seattle Seahawks, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and New York Giants.

Okam spent two seasons coaching at Baylor, where he led a unit that obliterated the school record with 46 sacks in 2019 and helped to produce five players that would go on to play in the NFL.
He spent the past few seasons in the NFL.
The 2020 and 2021 seasons he was with Matt Rhule in Carolina before he left to join the Las Vegas Raiders staff heading into the 2022 season.

Does it really matter an opposing coach says when he’s asked about things like this?
I would say in cases like this where they have a clearly deep seeded disdain for Nebraska (understandably so if he is a former Buff) then it is in the best interest of both parties not to try and make it work. There are plenty of other coaches out there and Nebraska should still have enough pride not to have to go that route.
Straight up. Nobody bedowngrades the Huskers in that manner and then looks for an employment opportunity in Lincoln. Hard pass.

Keep in mind that in this new era of CFB, 'entering the portal' just says you're looking for your best deal. Nebraska 1890 will play a big role in determining who leaves and who stays.
I'll say it like this. We have discussed ad nauseum the fragile mental state of the Nebraska program. I think Florida State, as we speak, is even weaker. That team went undefeated last year, was snubbed by the playoff committee, and has utterly and completely waived the white flag and quit ever since. They got boat raced in the bowl, and, despite out-recruiting Nebraska year in and year out, won all of two games this season in the ACC. Whoever convinced White that Tallahassee is the place you want to be, so he loaded up the truck and moved, may have given him bad advice. That program is implosionizing.
Good for us. He did not seem to be really improving the younger fellas, just riding the known quantities.
Jim Leonard not Gary Patterson, Leonard was DC with Wisconsin until Fickle got hired. Lots of big ten and NFL experience
