Tony White gone?

Me too. I've been less than happy with our defensive backfield and have even gone against one of my rules and called Butler out by name.....ie. you don't call out a specific player or coach if you don't know all the intricacies of a given situation.....which I do not. I have felt the D-backs have lacked in several areas......eg. poor communication, giving too much buffer on coverage (a D-back better know his coverage time....if you are too far away and it is not a long throw, you need to tighten the coverage up some if you expect to break up passes) and simply getting out of position on certain defenses. BUT is this all on the D-backs coach, or not. Defenses are very complex and pointing fingers can get one in trouble. Tony's defenses rely on the linebackers and even backs to fill the gaps left by linemen.....especially when they are in a 3-set. Stopping the run has been a major emphasis.....and they have. But I'm not sure at what cost to our pass coverage. It's for someone much smarter than myself. Hope Rhule is that guy.

Sounds like 2 things pissed White off - one was Snow advising. The other was Butler being hired - they did not get along. Agree Knighton wanted a shot at DC and was told at some point that was not happening. Not sure Butler is the right answer......but Rhule made this bed and will have to lay in it. I was already concerned about the D with the graduations taking place - a few more cherry picks by Knighton and White will really put the D in a tough spot. DT in particular - you just can't find in the portal. They have to be recruited and developed. There is no quick fix - and we likely need one.
I would not be surprised if White also is pissed about the lack of offense to help out the D - not to mention the special teams fiascos we keep having. Hard to have much faith you'll get a chance to show how good a coach you are on a team that may never get to 8 wins under Rhule.

25 plus more to go.
I'd rather have them leave now - coaches and players - than in April.

This would be a good move IMO. He can recruit. I'm worried it will end up being Butler.
I like Robinson. Not so sure how Butler would or wouldn't do as DC. He might very well be a very good one. Just don't really know.
Walter's or Leohnard are very strong possibilities.
Gary Patterson is not with the Broncos. He's with the Bears in TX. Well at least he was until yesterday when he resigned.Denver Broncos....
