I assume the SEC doesn't really want to expel LSU - they want leverage to force their rules to be enforced. LSU is not going back these players if the result is being expelled from the SEC. Too much money in play to risk it.

For now - if the players aren't suiting up for games they can let this play out in court to see if they can get an ruling in their favor. Even if the court allows the players to play - SEC is sending a message playing ex-NFL players will get LSU kicked out (which also would go to court....to determine if LSU's actions meet the criteria the SEC has in their bylaws for expelling members).

Messy but it seems unlikely these players will ever see the field in Baton Rouge.

Just a reminder that all these lawyers are making money off this deal because the NCAA's leadership are a bunch of idiots. It makes zero sense why they waited until late June of this year to announce its new fifth year for everybody ruling.

The court filings by these NFL training camp rejects would have been a non-issue if they'd announced it in late October, 2025 to go into effect this year OR had waited until late October, 2026 to announce that it will go into effect in 2027.

Anybody with half a brain could have predicted this mess would happen.

The real winners are the lawyers is true as soon as they get involved in any dispute. If you will recall the lawyer that handed the NCAA their arse in court over and over is the same guy that led the 23XI/Front Row Motorsports lawsuit against NASCAR. As things played out in court it became pretty obvious NASCAR was about to the lose the case being tried......so they made a quick settlement that effectively saved some face but gave the teams that sued almost everything they wanted. If Jeffrey Kessler gets involved he's doing it to make money but also because he can sus out which side is likely to win (since that typically pays the best). I just hope Texas Tech and Campbell aren't able to retain his services or we will be really screwed.

Yet another glaring example of why we are living in the absolute stupidest timeline.

No. This was the absolute stupidest of timelines:

We've got the crap we've got because the NCAA leadership has been a bunch of incompetent, bumbling idiots for over 70 years. That's no exaggeration.

BTW, the Boz is still around every CFB Saturday. He plays the Sheriff in those stupid Dr. Pepper college football commercials.

I did not know that Boz was the sheriff.
